At Justworks, you’ll enjoy a welcoming and casual environment, great benefits, wellness program offerings, company retreats, and the ability to interact with and learn from leaders in the startup community. We work hard and care about our most prized asset - our people.
We’re helping businesses get off the ground by enabling them to focus on running their business. We solve HR issues. We’re data-driven and never stop iterating. If you’d like to work in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment, are interested in building something meaningful and having fun while doing it, we’d love to hear from you.
We're united by shared goals and shared motivations at Justworks. These are best summed up in our company values, which are reflected in our product and in our team.
Our Values
If this sounds like you, you’ll fit right in. About the team / Product at Justworks
The Justworks Product team advances our mission by building products that extend levels of personal care and deep expertise that our customers have never experienced before. We craft innovative solutions that guide users through the most complicated challenges of running (and working for) a small business, with ease. We deeply understand complex regulatory spaces like FinTech, Healthcare, and HRTech, and have a keen intuition for how to connect threads across our customers’ needs and our business’ risk management and commercialization strategy. Our Product Managers lead highly collaborative creative endeavors, bringing together stakeholders across engineering, design, data services, operations, and customer-facing teams to deliver tangible value.
By joining us, you’ll be part of an experienced team of Product Managers who have a proven track record of building large-scale software products that impact small businesses worldwide.
About the role
The Fulfillment team plays a critical role in delivering a seamless benefits experience by building and maintaining the integrations that connect Justworks with external insurance carriers and benefits systems. We develop scalable, reliable solutions that streamline benefits enrollment, improve operational efficiency, and enable accurate data exchange across complex systems. Our work powers the infrastructure behind our benefits offerings, helping ensure that customers and internal teams can confidently manage benefits administration.
As a Product Manager of Fulfillment, you’ll play a high-impact role by driving the roadmap of a team core to the delivery of our mission. You’ll focus on defining and prioritizing initiatives that improve carrier integrations, strengthen our benefits infrastructure, and enable more efficient internal operations. You'll work closely with engineering and operations teams to translate complex technical and business needs into well-scoped solutions, balancing immediate operational priorities with long-term platform scalability.
As a champion for your team’s focus and productivity, you’ll establish clear priorities, manage scope, and remove obstacles to ensure maximum, high-quality output that aligns with Justworks’ business objectives. You will operate independently within your scope, develop a deep understanding of our technical integrations and operational workflows, and clearly articulate the reasoning behind your decisions to your peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate ownership for the products and integrations you build and an understanding of shipping reliable, scalable services that support Justworks’ benefits infrastructure
Shape the strategy and roadmap for key Fulfillment initiatives, balancing operational needs, technical investments, and long-term platform opportunities while articulating a compelling vision of business impact to stakeholders
Partner deeply with engineering to understand carrier integrations, APIs, and technical dependencies, investigate and prioritize issues, and make informed tradeoffs around scope, sequencing, and implementation
Collaborate closely with operations and cross-functional teams to understand internal workflows, identify unmet needs, and translate business requirements into actionable product solutions
Define clear requirements, success criteria, and scope boundaries for initiatives, proactively identifying edge cases and ensuring solutions address both technical and operational needs
Actively hone your knowledge of the PDLC, from discovery through delivery and iteration, while identifying opportunities to build reusable capabilities and improve existing processes
Build strong relationships across teams by demonstrating curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to customer-centered partnership
Contribute to team problem-solving and actively support or facilitate team processes and ceremonies
Take on opportunities beyond core responsibilities to support broader benefits platform strategy, improve integration capabilities, and drive impact
What you’ll need
Minimum of 2 years of product management experience in a modern technology business or equivalent experience in software engineering, data science, or business analytics
A strong commitment to problem-solving, capable of breaking down complex technical and operational challenges into clear, actionable priorities for team execution against business needs
A willingness to deeply understand the fundamentals of our business model, technical architecture, and operational workflows, prioritizing your own education and development through collaboration with engineers, coworkers, customers, and stakeholders
Deep user empathy and a high bar for user experience, including the ability to understand the needs of internal teams and design solutions that improve their workflows
Excellent persuasion and advocacy skills, using clear frameworks, storytelling, and first-principles reasoning to communicate priorities, tradeoffs, and product decisions
Strong technical acumen and familiarity with APIs, system integrations, or platform products is a plus
Prior experience working with insurance carriers, benefits administration systems, or other complex third-party integrations is a plus
Prior experience working in a highly regulated domain (e.g. fintech or healthcare) is a plus
