Job description

At Mudflap, we're modernizing the $1 trillion trucking industry, the backbone of the U.S. economy. By helping over 100,000 underserved small businesses save over $1.5 billion on fuel, Mudflap has quickly grown into a profitable fintech platform that processes billions in annual payment volume. We’re building financial technology for an industry that touches nearly everything we buy, and we’ve reached an exciting point in our growth. We’re profitable, scaling quickly, and expanding our products upmarket to serve increasingly larger and more complex fleets. You’ll own the full sales cycle for SMB fleets, from identifying the right decision-maker and uncovering their needs through navigating objections and closing the business. At the same time, you’ll help us break into larger fleets, identifying and developing opportunities and partnering with our Commercial Account Executives to win more complex deals. We’re looking for people who like a challenge, care about getting better, and genuinely love to win. You’ll get real ownership, a clear number to chase, exposure to increasingly complex sales, and the opportunity to grow your career alongside a profitable company entering its next stage of growth and scale. Work Location: This role is based in Austin, TX, and follows a hybrid schedule, with in-office collaboration required on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Thursdays. To support our team, we offer: - Commuter benefits to ease your travel - Lunches and snacks to keep you fueled - A collaborative, high-growth environment where you’ll work closely with talented teammates across the company Expectations (In this role, you will): - Own the full sales cycle for SMB fleets, from initial outreach and discovery through negotiation and close. - Generate and qualify pipeline for larger fleets, developing strong opportunities and partnering with Commercial Account Executives to move them forward. - Research accounts and identify the right decision-makers and buying signals. - Engage prospects across phone, email, and other channels to uncover needs and communicate Mudflap’s value. - Conduct discovery, navigate objections, and create urgency to move opportunities forward. - Build and manage a healthy pipeline across both SMB and larger fleet opportunities. - Maintain accurate activity, pipeline, and account information within the CRM. - Continuously improve your sales approach through coaching, customer feedback, performance data, and results. - Develop a deep understanding of Mudflap’s products, customers, and the fleet industry. Experience (What we look for): - 1+ year of experience in a sales role - We use AI to move faster, learn, and work smarter. If your instinct is to default to manual processes instead of looking for ways AI can help, Mudflap will likely be a hard adjustment. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to lead customer conversations - Comfortable with high-volume outreach, objection handling, and rejection - Curious, coachable, and motivated to continuously improve - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities - Competitive, goal-oriented, and interested in building a long-term sales career - Experience with CRM and sales tools Perks and Benefits (What we offer): - Competitive salary and equity in a high-growth startup - Multiple health benefit options - Responsible Time Off - 401(k) matching - Opportunities and support for major career growth - Annual Company offsite event (Mudfest!)
