Specialist Position Type: Associate - W2 Duration: 2 months We have an outstanding contract position for a Human Resources Generalist to join a leading Company located in the Garden City, NY surrounding area. Pay Rate: $30-$40/hr This is an on-site role, requiring the HR professional to “roll up your sleeves,” and engage and execute on needs both large and small - tactical and strategic. This is an excellent role for someone looking to develop their HR competencies in a manufacturing environment. With the support of the HR Manager and HR Director, the HR Generalist will regularly interact with all levels and business functions. The HR Generalist will execute a broad range of transactional HR responsibilities with speed, accuracy, and attention to detail, supporting employees and business leaders in a fast-paced environment where responsiveness, organization, and follow-through are critical to success. Job Responsibilities: • Support all processes with the employee lifecycle while ensuring appropriate application of HR policies and procedures, including fulfilling general HR Administration activities (recruitment, onboarding, leave administration, payroll, employee relations, HRIS changes, employee engagement, audits and reporting) • Provide accurate and timely responses to management requests, be the steward of compliance with Company processes, data protection requirements, and maintain HR systems and records • Support HR Analytics for the business unit in conjunction with the HR Director and HR Manager • Provide support with analyzing employment trends in the location(s)/business units reporting results and developing/monitoring action plans • Act as primary point of contact for general employee questions • Maintain HR dashboard/tracker on a weekly/monthly basis • Maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. • Additional responsibilities as required, and commensurate with the role Basic Hiring Criteria: • College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business or other related discipline • Minimum of 2-4 years of Human Resources experience in a generalist role required. • Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred; prior experience in a union environment is a plus • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with employees at all levels • Knowledge and understanding of New York employment and labor laws and regulations • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively • Experience with HR systems and tools such as SuccessFactors, LinkedIn recruiter, Talent LMS are a plus • Payroll experience using ADP is preferred • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with the ability to analyze data, create and maintain complex spreadsheets, and prepare professional reports and presentations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs. • Ability to pass a background check and 9-panel drug screen Physical Requirements • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during meetings, computer work, and facility walkthroughs • Occasional walking through production areas, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, or temperature variations • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., moving files, office supplies, or training materials) • Manual dexterity for computer use, writing, and handling documents • Visual and auditory ability to observe and communicate effectively in both office and manufacturing environments • May require occasional bending, reaching, or climbing stairs within the facility This position requires access to technologies and hardware subject to US national security-based export control requirements.
