Job description

ABOUT OSCILAR Oscilar is building the Agentic Risk Platform™ for banks and fintechs—reimagining how financial institutions manage fraud, credit risk, compliance, and onboarding in the AI era. Our platform brings decisioning, data, and AI agents together in a single system, enabling risk teams to make better decisions in real time and automate increasingly complex workflows. Today, Oscilar is trusted by 100+ fintechs and financial institutions, from fast-growing fintechs to some of the largest financial institutions in the world, such as SoFi, MoneyGram, and Nuvei. We are rapidly expanding across fraud, credit, AML, onboarding, and risk decisioning. Oscilar was founded by Neha Narkhede, co-creator of Apache Kafka and co-founder of Confluent, and is backed by world-class investors. We believe AI will fundamentally reshape financial infrastructure—and Oscilar has the opportunity to define the category at the center of that transformation. We are building a category-defining company, and our brand will be one of our greatest competitive advantages. THE ROLE We are hiring a Sr. Manager/Director, Brand Marketing to lead Brand, PR, and Communications and help make Oscilar one of the most recognized and respected brands in financial technology. You’ll be a hands-on player-coach: setting the strategy and direction for the function while staying deeply hands-on in building and launching the programs that establish Oscilar as a category-defining brand. As the company scales, you’ll build and lead the team responsible for Brand, PR, and Communications, staying hands-on in execution alongside them. This is not a traditional brand strategy role. We’re looking for a builder and leader—someone who can develop a bold point of view, turn ideas into programs quickly, leverage AI to dramatically increase the team’s output, and find creative ways to put Oscilar at the center of industry conversations. You’ll own how Oscilar shows up in the market across brand strategy, PR and communications, executive thought leadership, flagship brand programs, industry partnerships, and creative campaigns. You’ll also lead our external agency partners and establish the systems, operating rhythms, and playbooks that allow the function to scale. This is a high-ownership role with direct impact on company growth and reputation. You will report directly to our VP of Marketing and Growth and work closely with our CEO and executive team, as well as Product Marketing, Growth, Events, and Design. WHAT YOU’LL BUILD You will create and scale the programs that establish Oscilar as the leading brand in AI-powered risk decisioning. Brand Strategy & Programs - Define how Oscilar builds awareness, credibility, and category leadership as we scale. - Build flagship programs that put Oscilar at the center of conversations shaping the future of risk and financial services. - Develop industry awards, executive communities, original research, customer advocacy, and other differentiated brand properties. - Create signature programs that become recognized and anticipated across the industry. - Turn successful initiatives into repeatable programs that compound over time. PR & Communications - Own Oscilar’s PR and communications strategy in partnership with internal resources and external agencies. - Build relationships with influential media, analysts, industry organizations, and other voices shaping our market. - Develop compelling narratives around company announcements, product launches, customer stories, company milestones, and category trends. - Build a consistent drumbeat of stories that strengthens Oscilar’s reputation and market position. - Identify proactive opportunities to insert Oscilar and our executives into important industry conversations. - Lead and hold our external PR partners accountable for results. Executive Thought Leadership - Build programs that establish Oscilar’s executives and subject matter experts as defining voices in the industry. - Partner closely with our CEO and executive leadership to develop differentiated points of view on AI, risk, fraud, credit, compliance, and financial infrastructure. - Develop signature content franchises that create recurring industry conversations. - Identify opportunities across media, social, events, research, and partnerships to amplify our executives and ideas. Brand Campaigns & Experiences - Launch creative campaigns that generate awareness and engagement with our target market. - Partner with Events to create memorable conference activations and experiences. - Build integrated campaigns around major product launches, customer announcements, research, and company milestones. - Develop social, community, partnership, and experiential programs that expand Oscilar’s reach. - Experiment with unconventional ways to make Oscilar impossible to ignore. Team & Function Leadership - Start as a player-coach, personally building and launching high-impact programs while setting the strategy for Brand, PR, and Communications. - Lead our existing internal and external Brand and PR resources from day one. - Build the team over time, hiring and developing exceptional Brand and Communications talent as Oscilar scales. - Own agency relationships across PR, creative, and other specialized partners. - Define the function’s priorities, operating rhythms, workflows, and measurement frameworks. - Set a high bar for creativity and quality while building a culture of speed, experimentation, and ownership. - Build the playbook for how an AI-native Brand and Communications team should operate. Brand Experimentation - Launch multiple experiments every quarter to find new ways of building awareness and engagement. - Use AI extensively to increase the speed, quality, creativity, and scale of the team’s work. - Experiment with new channels, formats, partnerships, and campaign concepts. - Develop measurement frameworks to understand what drives awareness, reputation, and engagement. - Double down aggressively on what works and quickly move on from what doesn’t. - Build repeatable playbooks that allow successful programs to scale. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own Oscilar’s Brand, PR, and Communications roadmap and translate company strategy into a focused set of high-impact initiatives. - Design and launch innovative brand programs that increase Oscilar’s visibility, credibility, and reputation. - Build flagship initiatives and develop new creative ways to engage financial services leaders. - Lead PR strategy around company announcements, product launches, customer stories, executive thought leadership, and major company milestones. - Build programs that elevate Oscilar’s executives and subject matter experts. - Partner with Product Marketing to ensure campaigns reinforce our positioning and category leadership. - Collaborate with Events to create memorable experiences before, during, and after major conferences. - Partner with Design to develop a distinctive and consistently high-quality brand. - Manage the internal resources and external partners responsible for executing the strategy. - Leverage AI extensively to increase the speed, quality, and scale of execution. - Experiment constantly, measure results, double down on what works, and quickly iterate on what doesn’t. - Build the team, systems, and playbooks needed to scale the function. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR BRAND & COMMUNICATIONS LEADERSHIP - 7+ years of experience across Brand Marketing, Communications, Integrated Marketing, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, or Growth Marketing, ideally at a high-growth B2B technology company. - Track record of launching creative programs that materially increased awareness, engagement, or market presence. - Experience developing and executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels. - Experience managing people, agencies, or cross-functional teams. - Strong instincts for what makes a company, executive, or idea stand out in a crowded market. - Excited by the opportunity to build and eventually lead a world-class Brand and Communications organization. BUILDER MINDSET - You are a player-coach and doer, not just a strategist. - You can move seamlessly between defining the strategy and personally getting the first version out the door. - You thrive in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership and limited bureaucracy. - You’re comfortable starting with a blank page and figuring out what needs to exist. - You have exceptional taste and a high bar for quality without allowing perfection to slow execution. - You’re naturally curious and constantly looking for creative ways to break through the noise. AI-NATIVE MARKETING - Passion for leveraging AI to dramatically increase marketing productivity and creativity. - Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and workflows. - Excited to rethink how modern Brand and Communications teams should operate. - You see AI as an opportunity to dramatically expand what a small, ambitious team can accomplish. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP - Excellent project and stakeholder management skills. - Exceptional written and verbal communication. - Ability to influence and build trust across Product, Sales, Marketing, Design, Communications, and Executive Leadership. - Comfortable working directly with senior executives. - Ability to operate with significant autonomy and accountability. BONUS EXPERIENCE - Fintech, financial services, enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, or AI experience. - PR, media relations, or analyst relations experience. - Executive thought leadership experience. - Experience building customer advocacy, community, or ambassador programs. - Experience launching original research or industry recognition programs. - Conference marketing and experiential activation experience. - Experience building or scaling a Brand or Communications function at a high-growth company. WHY THIS ROLE IS UNIQUE Oscilar is at a unique inflection point: the company is scaling quickly, but much of the brand we can become has yet to be built. You won’t inherit a mature brand playbook and spend your time maintaining it. You’ll help write it. You’ll start as a player-coach—building programs yourself while establishing the strategy, team, and operating model that can scale with the company. You’ll have the opportunity to: - Lead Brand, PR, and Communications from day one. - Build the team and function around you as Oscilar scales. - Help define the reputation of one of the fastest-growing companies in financial technology. - Build flagship programs that can become recognized properties across the financial services industry. - Work directly with our CEO, VP of Marketing and Growth, and executive leadership. - Operate with exceptional autonomy and ownership. - Make ambitious creative bets and quickly bring them to market. - Help define a new category at the intersection of AI, risk, and financial infrastructure. - Build an AI-native marketing function capable of achieving far more than a traditional team of its size. For someone who wants to build and eventually lead a world-class Brand and Communications organization, this is an opportunity to build that organization from the ground up while helping create a category-defining company. BENEFITS - Compensation: Competitive salary and equity packages, including a 401k plan. - Flexibility: Remote-first culture. - Health: 100% employer-covered comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance with a top-tier plan for you and your dependents. (US) - Balance: Unlimited PTO policy. - Culture: Family-friendly environment; regular team events and offsites. - Development: Unparalleled learning and professional development opportunities. - Impact: Help make the internet safer by protecting online transactions and building the infrastructure powering the future of financial risk.
