Job description
Are you our “TYPE”?
Named One of the Most Innovative Companies in Design by Fast Company, Monotype brings brands to life through type and technology that consumers engage with every day. The company s rich legacy includes a library that can be traced back hundreds of years, featuring famed typefaces like Helvetica, Futura, Times New Roman and more. Monotype specializes in the design, development, licensing, and management of typefaces and font technologies for the world’s biggest global brands and individual creative professionals, offering a wide set of solutions that make it easier for them to do what they do best: design beautiful brand experiences.
Want to learn more about who we are, what we do, and how you can become part of our team of over 1,000 talented employees across the globe? Visit us at www.monotype.com .
We’re building innovative phishing and brand protection solutions to fight phishing attacks that are on the rise across the United States and globally. Additionally, these solutions help identify IP infringement and unauthorized brand asset use online.
You ll be one of the first commercial hires in the US, on the founding GTM team, selling genuinely novel technology into brand-protection, cybersecurity and IT at SMBs and enterprises. You’ll work closely with the founder and own deals end to end both for individual customer outreach and channel partnerships with other cybersecurity companies.
Want to build the motion, work directly with the founders, and own how a new category gets sold? Read on. Want a defined territory, a mature motion, and a manager checking your call notes? This isn t the role.
What you’ll be doing:
Act as the founder s right hand on GTM. Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, qualification, proposal, negotiation, close.
Sell paid pilots and platform deals to brands, then grow them into multi-year commitments.
Work on channel partnerships with other cybersecurity players in the space.
Run the room with CXOs, VPs, and the middle-management champions who actually move deals — building trust at all three levels on your own.
Turn a deep, technical, unfamiliar product into a business case a buyer can champion internally.
Feed real customer signal back to product and engineering — you re the feedback loop, not just a closer.
Improve the repeatable process: messaging, qualification criteria, pricing and collateral to improve our offering and make it more useful to our customers over time.
Travel to client sites and cultivate relationships in person.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, computer science, supply-chain management, or a related field required; an MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered where permitted.
4 years in B2B tech / innovation sales, or you re an ex-founder who ran fundraising, GTM, and sales yourself.
Lead closer. You ve executed enterprise deals as the main lead — driving them yourself, not supporting someone who did.
Executive presence. You run meetings with CXOs, VPs, and middle management solo, and shift register between boardroom and working session without missing a beat.
Category creator. You ve sold technology genuinely new to the market — creating the need, not winning a feature comparison.
Startup operator. Self-directing in a small team; you make progress without close guidance or a finished playbook.
Technical knowledge – You have a good understanding of web technologies, IT and the cybersecurity space and can handle conversations with buyers who belong to cybersecurity and IT.
What’s in it for you:
Hybrid work arrangements and competitive paid time off programs.
Comprehensive commercial medical insurance coverage to meet all your healthcare needs.
Competitive compensation with corporate bonus program & uncapped commission for quota-carrying Sales
A creative, innovative, and global working environment in the creative and software technology industry
Highly engaged Events Committee to keep work enjoyable.
Reward & Recognition Programs (including President s Club for all functions)
Professional onboarding program, including robust targeted training for Sales function
Development and advancement opportunities (high internal mobility across organization)
Retirement planning options to save for your future, and so much more!
