Job description

ABOUT TYPESAFE We’re building prod, not god. TypeSafe is an AI lab pushing frontier model intelligence in a new direction, starting with System One Models. We combine the reasoning of LLMs with the reliability of code, for truly trustworthy AI. Our first model, Jev, launched in September 2026. While others chase leaderboards, we’re rebuilding the LLM stack from first principles to make models smarter and also dependable enough to run in production. We’re a small, fast team backed by an $870M Series A led by a16z. Made in SF, with love. Come join the frontier. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Product Manager at TypeSafe, you'll help shape the product direction and experience of Jev, working closely with our CEO and engineering teams to bring frontier AI capabilities to developers and users. This is a rare opportunity to define an exciting new AI product from the ground up. You'll be responsible for translating rapidly evolving model capabilities into compelling product experiences, identifying what to build next, and driving execution from early ideas through launch and iteration. We're looking for someone with exceptional product taste, strong technical intuition, and the ability to move quickly in a highly ambiguous environment. You'll need to think strategically about where Jev should be headed while being equally comfortable diving into product details, talking to developers, analyzing usage data, and shipping improvements. As an early member of the team, you'll have significant ownership and influence over both our product and how we build. WE EXPECT THAT YOU - Are responsible, ownership-inclined, and a team player – you believe there is no such thing as "not my problem", and will happily roll up your sleeves to get things done - Have experience building and shipping technical products from 0 to 1, ideally for developers - Have strong technical intuition and can go deep with engineers on architecture, tradeoffs, and product decisions - Have exceptional product taste and can turn user feedback into clear priorities and product requirements - Are comfortable moving fast, working hard, and making decisions with incomplete information - Are mission aligned and excited to go all-in - Love being part of a team WE ARE HOPING THAT YOU - Have previously built products for developers - Have 5+ years of product management experience, ideally building highly technical products at a company with a high product and engineering bar - Have taken products from 0 to 1 and scaled them - Have experience building developer-facing products, APIs, or infrastructure tools, and understand what makes for a great developer experience LIFE AT TYPESAFE We’re a small, flat, close-knit team working to make intelligence dependable enough to become part of everyday software. We work fully in person from our San Francisco office near Embarcadero station. We love what we do and care deeply about the work. We strive for excellence and craftsmanship and won’t stop until we get there. When the team wins, we all win, and we enjoy collaborating and inspiring each other to grow—as a team and as individuals. We value emotional honesty, kindness, and bringing your whole self to work. We build machines; we don’t try to be machines. We want TypeSafe to be the place where you do the most impactful work of your career and help define our future as a company. WE PROVIDE - 100% covered health insurance - Daily lunch and dinner - Visa sponsorships - 401K plans
