Sales Development Representative (SDR) – AI SaaS
Location: Los Altos or San Francisco, CA
Work Arrangement: Onsite, 5 days per week
Employment Type: Full-Time
Base Salary: 80,000-100,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE): 114,000-30,000
Equity: Competitive
Experience: 0–2 years of relevant B2B SaaS sales experience
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with an early-stage AI technology company building a platform that enables individuals, professionals, and businesses to create personalized AI models based on their own knowledge, experiences, and expertise.
The company is expanding its platform into the business market, helping independent experts scale their services, licensed professionals share their specialized knowledge, and organizations preserve valuable institutional expertise.
With early customer traction and a growing pipeline of inbound and outbound interest, the team is looking for driven, entrepreneurial Sales Development Representatives to help build and scale its go-to-market efforts.
This is not a traditional SDR position focused solely on booking meetings. You'll have the opportunity to own the sales process from initial outreach through closing, develop creative prospecting strategies, and work directly with experienced sales and company leadership.
This is an opportunity for someone early in their sales career who wants meaningful ownership, hands-on experience with AI technology, and the chance to help build a sales organization from the ground up.
What You'll Do
• Execute high-volume, multichannel outbound prospecting campaigns through email, LinkedIn, and phone.
• Use modern prospecting and sales automation tools, including platforms such as Clay and Artisan, to identify and engage potential customers.
• Qualify inbound and outbound leads, helping refine ideal customer profiles and qualification criteria.
• Manage the sales process from initial outreach through closing, taking direct ownership of smaller deals.
• Collaborate with senior sales and technical leadership on larger or more complex opportunities.
• Engage prospective customers across professional services, independent consulting, education, and enterprise organizations.
• Support smaller customers after closing, including onboarding and initial account assistance.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, track pipeline activity, and ensure qualified opportunities move forward efficiently.
• Develop creative prospecting approaches, test new outreach strategies, and continuously improve conversion rates.
• Help establish repeatable sales processes as the company expands its business-to-business operations.
Required Qualifications
• 0–2 years of relevant B2B SaaS sales experience , including SDR, BDR, or equivalent outbound sales responsibilities. Motivated recent graduates with strong potential will also be considered.
• Experience with high-volume, multichannel prospecting , including cold calling, email outreach, and LinkedIn engagement.
• Strong understanding of AI technology and genuine familiarity with using AI tools in everyday work.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technology clearly to customers with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• A proactive, competitive, and results-oriented approach to sales.
• Comfort taking ownership of opportunities beyond initial lead qualification, including discovery, relationship development, and closing.
• Ability to work independently, experiment with new approaches, and thrive in an early-stage environment.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Los Altos, CA, or the San Francisco office. Candidates must be able to meet this requirement or be willing to relocate.
• Current U.S. work authorization without the need for visa sponsorship or transfer. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience selling AI-powered software or working in an AI-native startup.
• Experience at an early-stage SaaS company, particularly in a founding sales or go-to-market role.
• Background selling software to small businesses, independent professionals, or professional-services organizations.
• Experience with creator platforms, education technology, knowledge-management software, or vertical SaaS.
• Familiarity with modern sales prospecting and automation tools.
• Demonstrated success managing opportunities through multiple stages of the sales cycle.
• Experience building or improving outbound sales processes in a fast-growing environment.
• A background in competitive athletics or other activities demonstrating persistence, discipline, and drive is a plus.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
The ideal candidate is curious about AI, excited by technology, and motivated to build rather than simply follow an established playbook.
You'll likely enjoy this opportunity if you:
• Want to develop full-cycle sales skills rather than focus exclusively on appointment setting.
• Enjoy experimenting with new prospecting strategies and finding creative ways to connect with customers.
• Are comfortable speaking with business owners, professionals, and senior decision-makers.
• Can translate technical concepts into clear, compelling business value.
• Take ownership of results and are motivated by measurable outcomes.
• Want to work closely with experienced leadership in a small, fast-moving team.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
• Base Salary: 80,000–100,000 annually
• On-Target Earnings: 114,000–130,000 annually
• Equity: Competitive equity package
• Employment: Full-time
• Location: Los Altos, CA, with a San Francisco office option
• Schedule: Five days per week onsite; remote work is not available
• Visa Sponsorship: Not available
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the chance to join an emerging AI company at an important stage of commercial growth.
You'll work with a product that has already demonstrated customer demand, gain exposure to the full sales cycle, and collaborate with experienced leadership while helping establish a scalable go-to-market operation.
For an ambitious early-career sales professional who wants to combine AI technology, entrepreneurial ownership, and measurable business impact, this is an opportunity to contribute from the beginning.
