Job Description Programmer Analyst III (AS400/RPG Developer) Location: Montgomery, Alabama (Onsite) Contract Duration: 06 months contract to hire Must-Have Requirements • 8+ years of verifiable RPG programming experience • IBM AS400 platform experience • Experience within the last 12-15 years • Business-critical application support experience • Eligible for Alabama State Merit System employment Required Technologies • CL/400 • RPG/400 • ILE RPG • SQL RPGLE • IBM AS400 Environment Core Skills • Systems analysis and design • Application development and maintenance • Production support and troubleshooting • Debugging and issue resolution • Testing and quality assurance • Technical documentation • Strong communication skills • Ability to work independently Preferred Skills • Query/400 • Aldon Change Management Software • AS400 Screen Design Aid (SDA) • Extensive subfile experience • AS400 System Administration • AS400 System Upgrades Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Maintain and enhance the ADPH Vital Statistics System • Develop and modify RPG applications • Troubleshoot production issues • Perform testing and validation • Document changes and procedures • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders • Support enterprise metrics initiatives Ideal Candidate Profile • 8+ years of AS400/RPG development • Strong RPG/400, RPGLE, and SQL RPGLE experience • Production support and troubleshooting background • Legacy enterprise application maintenance experience • AS400 administration or upgrade experience (preferred) • Excellent documentation and communication skills
