Job description

At Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP, we know that talented Senior Accountants and CPAs have choices. That’s why we’ve created a workplace that values client relationships, encourages career growth, and supports a healthy work/life balance. We’re looking for an active Senior Accountant or CPA who’s ready to take ownership of a client portfolio and play a key role in our growing firm. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership role with a track to partnership for the right candidate. If you're someone who enjoys building long-term client relationships and wants more than just a “busy season” job, we’d love to talk with you. Some say we're not too big and not too small—we think we're just right. If you're ready to advance your career in a firm that values people as much as numbers, let’s connect. What You’ll Do: • Manage and grow your own portfolio of clients • Provide tax and accounting services to individuals, partnerships, corporations, nonprofits, estates, and trusts • Plan, prepare, and review tax returns • Meet directly with clients to cultivate strong, lasting relationships • Deliver a variety of non-attest services • Oversee and mentor staff, helping to develop future leaders within the firm What You’ll Need: • Active CPA license is a plus—but not required • 2-4 years of audit or tax experience in public accounting. • Proven ability to manage client relationships and oversee multiple engagements • Strong project management and supervisory experience • Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills • Confidence in explaining complex financial concepts to clients from all backgrounds • Farm tax experience is a plus—but not required What Sets Us Apart: Busy Season Relief We know tax season can be intense—and we believe your career should support your life, not take it over. That’s why we offer flexible scheduling to help you work in a way that suits your individual needs. Plus, we have a policy that allows you to earn extra paid time off in the summer so you can recharge. Career Growth on Your Terms We help you map out your professional goals and give you the flexibility to grow at your own pace. Whether you want to become a specialist or take on leadership opportunities, we support your path. Variety in Your Work You’ll work with clients in diverse industries and handle a mix of services—from tax prep and audit to bookkeeping and consulting. Opportunities to Specialize Interested in a niche area? We’ll help you become an expert. Our team includes specialists in various tax and accounting fields, and we encourage focused professional development. Plus, we offer Hands-on training, a modern technology, comprehensive benefits, support for professional memberships, and a collaborative work environment where people genuinely enjoy working together. About Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP • A CPA firm with over 100 years of history, founded and headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska • We serve clients across the Midwest with offices in NE, KS, MI, MN, MO, and WY • Large enough to meet a wide range of client needs—but small enough to know them by name • We believe our greatest asset is our people, and we invest in their success Let’s Talk If this sounds like the kind of place you’d like to grow your career, reach out to us. We’d love to meet you.
