Job description

Raleigh, NC | In-office | Full-time Hey — Derek here, COO and co-founder of ReFiBuy. If you love opening doors at enterprise brands and retailers, teaching a buyer something they didn't know about their own business, and closing deals in a category that didn't exist two years ago: keep reading. Let's dig in. A few quick notes up front: • No recruiters, please. • Applicants must have permanent work authorization in the US. We're not sponsoring visas for this role. • This is an in-office role in Raleigh, NC with regular travel for prospect meetings and industry events. About the Role We're hiring a Strategic Account Executive to own full-cycle sales into enterprise brands and retailers. You'll work a named territory of strategic accounts including enterprise brands and retailers, taking deals from first conversation through signed agreement. This is a category-creation sale. Most of your buyers are actively trying to figure out agentic commerce right now. Your job is to teach, build urgency, and effectively run a high velocity sales process end-to-end. You'll build deep, trusted partnerships with your customers along the way that keep ReFiBuy top of mind as we ship new capabilities and offerings. You'll work closely with our Solutions Engineers, Product Managers, and Leadership Team to support the company’s growth objectives. This is a seat for a self-starter. There's no SDR team feeding you meetings and no thick enablement binder, you'll own your accounts and build fast. What You'll Do Pipeline • Own a named territory of strategic accounts across enterprise brands, retailers, and agencies. • Build qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up, conference presence, and partner referrals. • Multi-thread into digital, ecommerce, and marketing organizations. From practitioner champions up to VP and C-level economic buyers. Full-cycle selling • Run consultative discovery that uncovers how AI shopping engines are already reshaping each prospect's discoverability and what it's costing them. • Partner with Solutions Engineering on demos, technical deep-dives, and onboarding of the Commerce Intelligence Engine. • Drive deals through evaluation, procurement, and legal; negotiate and structure agreements including pilot-to-contract conversions and multi-brand deals. • Execute clean handoffs to Solutions Engineering and onboarding so customers hit the ground running. Customer partnership • You’ll build trusted, lasting relationships with your customers, being viewed as a strategic partner in their agentic commerce journey, not just the person who sold them software. • Keep customers in the loop as we launch new capabilities and offerings that fit their needs, supporting customer growth and upsell opportunities. Operating rigor • Maintain tight CRM hygiene in HubSpot including accurate deal stages, next steps, and forecast commitments. • Feed market intelligence back to product and leadership: what buyers ask for, how competitors position, where the category is heading. • Represent ReFiBuy at industry events and contribute to the thought leadership that's building this category. What we're looking for • 7+ years of quota-carrying B2B SaaS sales experience, with meaningful time selling into enterprise brands or retailers. • Domain fluency in ecommerce, retail tech, digital shelf, marketplaces, and/or product-data infrastructure. You can talk catalogs, channels, and merchandising credibly on day one. • Track record closing six-figure ACV deals with complex, multi-stakeholder buying committees. • Comfortable selling an emerging category: you can teach, challenge, and create business cases to drive budget allocation. • Disciplined operator with strong command of sales process, forecasting, and pipeline management. • A true self-starter. You generate your own pipeline and set your own pace while being capable of adapting fast in a startup environment. • You treat AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty. You've already built AI into your daily selling motion and you're eager to keep experimenting. Nice to Have • Experience at a commerce-tech platform. • Existing relationships with digital and ecommerce leaders at enterprise brands or retailers. • Familiarity with AI shopping surfaces or structured product data (Google Merchant Center, schema, feeds). How We Work Builder culture: fast iterations, real ownership, daily shipping. We're in the office because the best work happens shoulder-to-shoulder with the team you're building with. Fewer meetings, more co-creation, and a high bar for the quality of every demo, deployment, and follow-up we put our name on. Why ReFiBuy • Help shape an emerging category at the intersection of AI and commerce — one of the most consequential platform shifts in retail in a decade. • Work directly with proven ecommerce founders and an experienced team of operators with deep domain expertise. • Direct impact on product direction and customer success — your patterns turn into our roadmap. • Real ownership in a fast-moving, AI-native organization. Benefits We're a seed-stage startup, and we've put real benefits in place — here's the deal: • Healthcare — Three BCBS plans to choose from. ReFiBuy covers 80% of the base plan; you cover 20%. • Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance — available alongside the medical plans. • 401k through Human Interest, with a company match: 100% of contributions up to 1% of salary plus 50% up to 5%. No vesting — it's yours from day one. • Incentive Stock Options (ISOs) — you're getting in on the ground floor. 4-year vesting, quarterly. • PTO — 15 days (120 hours) per year, accruing each pay period. PTO can be used as it accrues, carries over year-to-year up to a 120-hour cap, and unused PTO is paid out at the end of your service. • Office – 1111 Haynes Street, Suite 113, Raleigh, NC 27604 Note: Benefits are eligible 30 days after start. About ReFiBuy ReFiBuy is the Agentic Commerce Optimization (ACO) platform for brands, retailers, and agencies. We exist to help commerce teams compete and win in a world where AI shopping agents — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, and whatever ships next month — increasingly decide what gets discovered, recommended, and purchased. The tools that power ecommerce today were never designed for agents. Product visibility used to depend on people typing keywords; now it depends on whether your product data is complete, structured, and intelligible to machines. We built ReFiBuy from the ground up as an AI-native, closed-loop platform — our Commerce Intelligence Engine ingests catalogs at the SKU level, evaluates how agentic engines interpret each product, enriches the gaps, distributes optimized data back to the engines, and monitors performance over time. We were founded by four ecommerce operators with serious mileage — ChannelAdvisor, Rithum, MikMak, and Walmart — which makes us one of the most experienced AI startups in the Triangle. We're working with real brands and retailers (Steve Madden among them) on real catalogs, today. Speed-wise: compared to a traditional company you'll feel like you're going 100x faster. Compared to a typical startup, 10-20x. If you like to build great and fast, be innovative, go home exhausted from learning so much, and ship work where the impact is immediate: you're going to love it here. That's it for now — looking forward to meeting you. — Derek Conlin, COO
