Job description
Your job is more than a job
If you’re ready to own your applications, mentor a talented team, and drive meaningful change in healthcare, this role was built for you.
Applications Team Lead
The Applications Team Lead is a bold, hands-on leader and Epic expert who transforms complex ideas into powerful, real-world solutions. With a high degree of ownership and minimal supervision, this role leads application teams in designing, building, and supporting Epic systems that streamline work for providers, empower staff, and elevate the patient experience.
As the trusted subject matter expert for assigned applications, you’ll own the full lifecycle—from strategy and design to build, optimization, and support. You’ll ensure systems are secure, efficient, compliant, and built to meet the real demands of healthcare operations. Whether supporting clinical, ancillary, or financial workflows, your work directly fuels high-quality patient care.
This is where leadership meets impact. It blends technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration. You’ll mentor team members, tackle complex issues, and keep projects and operational work moving forward on time and within SLAs. If you enjoy leading teams, solving meaningful problems, and making a difference through technology, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
· Lead from the front by guiding application teams with clear direction, mentorship, and deep technical expertise
· Turn user needs into smart solutions by analyzing workflows, challenges, and opportunities to improve or automate systems
· Own the application by serving as the primary expert for assigned systems, driving design, build, optimization, and long-term success
· Drive results by coordinating project and operational work to meet timelines, quality standards, and SLAs
· Partner with purpose by working closely with providers and staff to deliver tools that support exceptional patient care
· Solve what matters most by troubleshooting issues, managing escalations, and leading effective problem resolution
· Champion a winning team culture built on collaboration, accountability, and outstanding customer service
· Shape team success by contributing to team discussions and performance feedback as needed
· Lead with responsibility by promptly communicating human resource concerns to leadership
What Makes You Successful
· Strong leadership and collaboration skills
· A passion for customer service and teamwork
· The ability to balance technical work with mentoring and team leadership
· A commitment to building secure, efficient, and reliable systems that support healthcare excellence
Why You’ll Love This Role
· You’ll make a real difference. Your work directly supports providers, staff, and patients by delivering technology that improves care and outcomes.
· You get to lead and influence. This role blends hands-on technical work with team leadership, mentoring, and decision-making—perfect for someone ready to own their space.
· You’ll be trusted as the expert. As the go-to authority for your assigned applications, your ideas and insights will shape how systems evolve and improve.
· Every day is different. From problem-solving and system optimization to coaching team members and supporting projects, no two days look the same.
· You’ll work with purpose-driven people. Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of this role, surrounded by colleagues who care about quality, service, and each other.
· Stability with room to grow. You’ll work with mission-critical systems in a role that offers both consistency and opportunities to expand your skills and leadership impact.
