Job description

About the role: Behind many of life’s most important transactions — buying a house, applying for a mortgage, getting a small business loan, or refinancing a credit card — is a network of credit relationships. Setpoint provides critical infrastructure for relationships between the world’s largest banks, credit funds and capital markets counterparties. We’re building trust in this system of credit. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of DataOS. DataOS is the operating system for data and documents in asset-backed lending, a $5 trillion market ripe for modernization. Our platform helps standardize, verify, and store critical data and documents in a central repository serving both borrowers and lenders. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own end-to-end development of high-impact features across the stack, from design through launch. You’ll work on client-facing, mission-critical functionality, including AI-driven features that accelerate document review, streamline data verification, and ensure data integrity. Who will love this job: Owners – You thrive when given autonomy, cutting through ambiguity and driving results without waiting for detailed requirements. Doers – You move fast, experiment, and ship great products that solve real-world problems. Product-Focused Engineers – You obsess over the user experience and build with empathy. Thought Partners – You’re curious, ask clarifying questions, and collaborate closely with Product and business leaders. What you’ll do: Build systems that streamline the parsing, standardization, and movement of complex financial data. Deliver client-facing and high-impact features, including responsible use of AI/LLM technologies to automate workflows while maintaining quality and compliance. Collaborate closely with Product, Finance, and Leadership to shape our roadmap, working directly with your Tech Lead and having access to the C-Suite. Invest in internal user experience: build and refine tooling that keeps the team productive and velocity high. Partner with cross-functional teams to clarify scope, validate client expectations, and ensure impactful delivery. You should have: 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering production systems. Expertise in our modern tech stack, or similar: Python/Flask, TypeScript/React, Tailwind CSS, Data Warehouses, and tools for data and AI. Experience participating in a rotating on-call shift, with the ability to investigate, triage, and resolve immediate production issues. A strong ownership mindset – you take responsibility for end-to-end initiatives and see them through to completion. Demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype and iterate based on tight feedback loops. Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-autonomy environments while driving clarity and progress. Curiosity and practical experience with AI and LLM technologies, with a focus on their responsible use in production systems. Excellent communication skills – you ask the right questions, align stakeholders, and make complex ideas clear. A collaborative approach – you work effectively with teammates, welcome feedback, and contribute to team success. Strong Database / Data Warehouse / Data Integrity experience is a plus – focus on auditability and version control/change tracking for critical datasets. About Setpoint: Setpoint provides purpose-built capital and technology to asset-backed borrowers and lenders. Our platform is the funding operating system for originators: it verifies and stores documents; automates critical calculations and compliance reporting; and digitizes assets like homes or cars. Setpoint’s technology makes warehouse transactions instant and error free. In August 2024, Setpoint announced the successful completion of its $31 million Series B funding round. 645 Ventures led the round, with significant strategic investments from Citi and Wells Fargo, alongside Andreessen Horowitz, NextView Ventures, Floating Point, Henry Kravis, Zillow founder’s 75 & Sunny, Vesta Ventures, Fifth Wall, Eltura Ventures, and Outrunner Capital. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive salaries, stock options, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), short term and long term disability coverage, and flexible vacation. We have offices in Austin, TX, New York City, NY, and Salt Lake City, UT with hybrid roles based in these locations and an expectation of two days a week in office (Tuesdays and Thursdays). Setpoint provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
