Job description

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. While sustainable investments often yield the best long-term returns, they require financial clarity and capital that fragmented legacy systems can’t provide. We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on. By replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending, Ambrook gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation. We empower the stewards of land and labor to make confident investments in their future. We’re a Series B startup backed by Lachy Groom, Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Cameron Ventures, and leaders at Notion, Gusto, and Vercel. We’re looking for team members to help us untangle the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy. WHAT YOU'LL BE DRIVING IN THIS ROLE: As an Account Manager at Ambrook, you'll advise a portfolio of our most complex farms, ranches, construction companies, and other businesses enrolled in our Full Service offering. You'll help customers coming in with all shapes of financial data get to clean books, and then financial insights that they can use to make truly impactful business decisions. Beyond helping individuals, you’ll have an active role in building the systems, tools and product features that enable all businesses on Ambrook to have better insight into their numbers and be more profitable over time. The role is part customer advisor, part builder. You'll work directly with producers to help them make strategic financial decisions. You'll also help figure out and build the right processes to ensure customers always have a set of finances they feel confident in. This role sits at the intersection of our customers, strategy, and product operations, where you’ll move between work that directly impacts your clients, and helping to build the tools and processes to scale that work across our customer base. Ambrook has grown from 100 to +7,000 customers in the last 18 months, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to jump in and help us solve hard problems as we grow our customer base by +50% over the next 12 months—including giving them the insights that help them become more profitable business operators at scale, and building in the next level of reports and analytical tools into the product. If you've ever wondered what it would feel like for your analysis to actually change someone's year - or their entire operation - this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for. The owners you'll work with don't have a finance team, but they care deeply about their businesses and are hungry for the information that will help them make the right decisions to grow, pivot, and set them up for success for generations to come. If you’re looking for intensity that comes with impact, and that prospect is more interesting to you than another quarterly close, we want to hear from you. This is a contract role targeting 40 hours per week, but flexible for part-time (20-30 hrs) for the right candidate. WITHIN 2 WEEKS YOU'LL… - Get fluent in our product, our customer base, and the specific shape of finance and operations across farms, ranches, and real economy businesses. - Shadow advisory calls with existing customers and start supporting your own book of business. - Start setting up a diverse array of businesses for success, from helping them onboard onto Ambrook to digging into financial data to make decisions with more tenured customers. WITHIN 2 MONTHS YOU'LL… - Own the relationship for a full portfolio of Full Service customers, running the end-to-end process of untangling their existing books, figuring out the right structure for their target insights, and moving in that direction. - Contribute to the success of Full Service customers broadly by identifying opportunities for product changes, process improvements, or internal tooling, and building some of them yourself. - Surface patterns from your customer work back to Product, Design, and Engineering, so the things you're doing manually show up in the software, including new reports and tooling. ABOUT YOU You come from FP&A, tax, strategic or startup finance, or otherwise have a strong bookkeeping or accounting background, and you're looking to see more direct impact from your work. That might mean: - You're fluent in accounting concepts and their practical application to a variety of businesses. But you can also walk anyone through those topics without losing them. - You're a patient, trust-building communicator — especially with people whose expertise is in something other than accounting. - You love working with people and are motivated by helping businesses understand their numbers and become more successful over time. - You’re proactive and don’t let details slip through the cracks. - You’re excited to jump into the pace and intensity of a startup, solving hard problems every day with a team that cares as much about the mission and impact as you do. - You’re excited to be closer to end customers and have a direct impact on a product used by thousands of people. - Curiosity about agriculture, family businesses, and the real economy is a must. Direct experience is a bonus, but not a requirement. THE DETAILS - Contract role, remote within the US. - Flexible hours, with availability during typical business hours across US time zones to meet with customers. Some amount of customer work outside of meetings can be completed asynchronously whenever works for your scheule.
