Job description
Platform Operations Lead The Opportunity:
At a certain point, experience-based system design can start to look like clairvoyance. When you’ve developed so many systems that you can not only orchestrate the best solution for any technology-based challenge, but you can also anticipate and preempt future issues, you’re a solutions architect. You’ve evolved your skills into strategy through a long path of software development accomplishments and the curiosity to understand how all the pieces of an IT ecosystem fit together.
Platform operations require a unique blend of cloud engineering expertise, operational rigor, and leadership. As a Senior Platform Operations Lead, you understand how to build resilient systems, ensure operational excellence, and maintain secure, compliant environments at scale. We’re looking for someone like you to ensure the reliability and performance of critical financial platforms hosted in AWS GovCloud.
As a Platform Operations Lead at Booz Allen, you will guide the operation and evolution of a secure, scalable cloud data platform and translate your customer’s IT needs and future goals into a plan. You’ll bring deep cloud operations experience and hands‑on Databricks and AWS GovCloud expertise to support and modernize essential government financial systems in an enterprise data platform.
You will lead the implementation of resilient cloud architectures, lifecycle management, automation strategies, and proactive monitoring to meet the stringent performance, compliance, and security requirements of public sector financial operations.
Through your leadership, we’ll help transform the way our clients use technology including cloud migration, integrating advanced technology, and modernizing legacy systems. As a technical leader, you’ll shape the digital solutions business and identify opportunities for growth.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
10 years of experience leading teams performing platform operations, cloud operations, site reliability engineering, and infrastructure engineering
Experience operating and supporting data platforms in AWS GovCloud, including IAM, networking, compute, storage, monitoring, and security services
Experience in managing cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code tools and designing, deploying, and operating Databricks on restricted, regulated, or secure cloud environments
Experience supporting production workloads for distributed systems, APIs, microservices, containerized environments, including Docker or Kubernetes, and Kafka
Experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
Experience in automation for operational tasks, patching, configuration management, and environment provisioning
Knowledge of cloud security best practices, logging, monitoring, incident response, and compliance frameworks required in government environments
Ability to lead incident management, root‑cause analysis, operational readiness reviews, and high‑availability engineering
