Job Description – Senior MySQL DBA Position: Senior MySQL Database Administrator Experience: 10+ Years Location: Remote Employment Type: Contract Job Summary We are looking for an experienced MySQL DBA with 8+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup/recovery, and production support. The candidate should have strong experience managing large-scale MySQL environments and troubleshooting critical database issues. Key Responsibilities • Administer and support MySQL databases in production and non-production environments. • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations . • Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability. • Perform SQL query and database performance tuning . • Analyze slow queries, execution plans, locks, deadlocks, and resource utilization. • Configure and troubleshoot MySQL Replication and high-availability environments. • Manage backup and recovery using tools such as MySQL Enterprise Backup, XtraBackup, or equivalent. • Perform database recovery and disaster-recovery activities. • Troubleshoot database incidents and provide root-cause analysis. • Manage users, roles, privileges, security, and access controls. • Work with development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, stored procedures, and database design . • Perform database upgrades, migrations, and version upgrades with minimal downtime. • Develop monitoring, automation, and maintenance scripts.
