Job description

The Company Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health. We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us. Meet the team: Our R&D organization is building the next generation of AI-powered experiences for people managing their health. As a Senior AI/ML Engineer in the Data Products & AI group, you own the full lifecycle of production AI/ML systems, from problem framing and model design through evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. You’ll combine strong software engineering with hands-on expertise in modern AI, including foundation models, generative AI, and predictive modeling, to turn emerging AI capabilities into reliable, safe, and valuable product features. You’ll work at the intersection of research and production, partnering with engineers, product managers, and clinical, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders to ship AI systems at scale. Where you come in: • You architect end-to-end AI/ML product capabilities, from concept and experimental design through training, evaluation, and production deployment, writing reusable, production-quality code. • You build and optimize AI/ML product features, whether powered by predictive models or generative AI such as large language models (LLMs), improving behavior through model selection, prompting, retrieval, feature engineering, fine-tuning, or retraining. • You own evaluation and safety for your systems, defining metrics, benchmarks, and monitoring, identifying model and system risks, and driving mitigations and responsible-AI practices across the team. • You lead technical strategy that balances model performance, latency, cost, safety, and regulatory requirements. • You collaborate with engineers and architects to deploy and scale AI/ML systems in production, building and improving the training, serving, and CI/CD pipelines that keep them reliable, observable, and cost-effective. • You coordinate with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders from R&D, Commercial, Product, Legal, and Regulatory, to ensure development aligns with company strategy and meets the highest safety standards. • You display excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex methodologies and results to technical and non-technical audiences. What makes you successful: • You love being on the cutting edge of AI/ML, are eager to learn new technologies as they emerge, and share a passion for Dexcom’s mission and health-sensing applications. • You have strong CS fundamentals and hands-on experience with Python and modern AI/ML libraries and frameworks. • You have experience taking AI/ML systems all the way to production and operating them reliably at scale, including evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and MLOps practices. • You have experience building scalable, cloud-based AI/ML solutions and are comfortable working with large datasets in distributed environments. • You are familiar with relevant, modern software engineering and test tooling, and apply engineering rigor to AI/ML work. • You bring a responsible-AI mindset, attentive to model safety, reliability, and risk in regulated, high-stakes settings. What you’ll get: • A front row seat to life changing CGM technology. Learn about our brave #dexcomwarriors community . • A full and comprehensive benefits program. • Growth opportunities on a global scale. • Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement. • An exciting and innovative, industry-leading organization committed to our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
