Job description

Overview The M365 Core Copilot Infrastructure team builds and operates the Large Language Model (LLM) platform that powers AI experiences across Microsoft 365. We provide the foundational capabilities that enable product teams to deliver scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient AI experiences to millions of users worldwide. As the Microsoft 365 LLM Platform team, we automate every phase of the AI lifecycle, from model onboarding and deployment to inference, capacity management, and operations. Through intelligent routing, caching, telemetry, and platform innovation, we enable the next generation of AI-powered productivity experiences. Our culture is grounded in customer impact, technical excellence, continuous learning, and operational rigor. We value ownership, collaboration, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while shaping the future of AI at Microsoft. We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to drive platform fundamentals, operational excellence, and business impact across the M365 AI platform. This role sits at the center of some of our most critical platform investments. You will partner closely with engineering teams and stakeholders across the AI ecosystem to improve reliability, scalability, efficiency, and operational health for AI-powered experiences used by millions of customers. Success in this role requires strong systems thinking and technical judgment. You will identify service bottlenecks, operational pain points, and platform debt, then work across teams to prioritize and drive the investments that deliver the greatest customer and business impact. You will define the metrics that matter, use data and operational insights to guide decisions, and help teams focus on outcomes rather than activity. The ideal candidate is a product leader who thinks like a systems architect. You are comfortable reasoning about large-scale distributed systems, service dependencies, reliability tradeoffs, and operational complexity. You enjoy working across organizational boundaries, influencing technical direction, and bringing clarity to complex problems. Most importantly, you can translate technical challenges into prioritized investments that improve platform health, engineering effectiveness, and customer outcomes. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
