Job description

About Step Step's mission is to improve the financial future of the next generation. Millions of people use our banking and borrowing products to manage, build, and grow their money. Now that we're part of Beast Industries – the company behind MrBeast – we're poised for a new phase of growth to deliver financial literacy and tools at massive scale. About the Role We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our Product team at Step and own the end-to-end development of a core product area. In this role, you will shape the roadmap for your area to align with Step's broader business goals, operating at the intersection of customer experience, business performance, and regulatory reality, and balancing growth, risk, and compliance as we scale. As we continue to grow, you will play a crucial role in using data-driven insights to define priorities, executing product strategies, and turning ambiguous problems into shipped product. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, data science, legal, compliance, operations, marketing, and finance, and leverage AI tools to move faster from insight to shipped product. As part of Beast Industries, MrBeast's family of companies, Step is positioned to scale significantly over the next 12-24 months, and we're hiring senior product leaders across banking, spending and saving, growth, and risk to build for that scale. In this role, you will: Partner with leadership to define the vision and strategy for your product area, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives Own your roadmap end to end, from problem definition and prioritization through launch, iteration, and scale Leverage analytics, user research, and industry trends to identify high-impact features, optimizations, and experiments Write clear specifications that lay out the problem, objectives, key elements of the solution, decision rationale, and the metrics that define success Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, data science, legal, compliance, operations, marketing, and finance to build, launch, and scale products Monitor key product metrics, measure impact, and iterate based on learnings to continuously enhance the customer experience Balance growth, risk, and compliance in product decisions, and communicate the tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders across the company Use AI tools to deliver better consumer experiences and business outcomes faster You might thrive in this role if you have: 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer fintech or consumer mobile products A track record of building, launching, and scaling consumer products, from ideation through growth, with measurable business impact Strong analytical skills, with experience using BigQuery, Looker, Mixpanel, or similar analytics tools Experience using AI tools day-to-day, with evidence of how they've made your work faster or better Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders Deep customer empathy and a passion for building products that deliver real value A proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with a bias for action — you act as an owner, move with urgency, and are comfortable with ambiguity Even better if you have: A background in software engineering, design, analytics, or technical product management Experience in a regulated environment, or with banking, payments, lending, growth, or risk and fraud products Prior experience at an early- or growth-stage startup Logistics Location: Remote (US) or San Mateo, CA, with occasional travel for team offsites and key meetings Reports to: Chief Product Officer Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single qualification. Strong candidates rarely check every box, and we'd rather meet you than miss you. How we're different We stand for the side hustlers, the creators, the freelancers, and the investors — people who are not afraid to take on challenges, especially when it comes to their finances. Step is focused on disrupting the banking industry by delivering a differentiated, mobile-first consumer experience, and we operate like the customers we serve: customer obsessed, acting as owners, moving with urgency, and breaking the norm. Step is a wholly owned subsidiary of Beast Industries , the media and entertainment company founded by Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast), the most-watched person in the world. Beast Industries spans digital media, consumer products, philanthropy, and new ventures, with an audience reach no consumer company has ever had — and Step is tasked with turning that reach into financial literacy and tools for the next generation at massive scale. With Beast's distribution and brand behind it, Step is positioned to scale significantly over the next 12 months, and joining now means helping shape that trajectory from the inside. Come work with us! Step is a remote-first company building banking for the next generation. We offer competitive compensation and stock options, generous medical, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance, a 401k plan with Safe Harbor company matching, a flexible vacation policy and paid company holidays, 12 weeks paid parental leave with flexible return to work, and a company-provided technology package. If you're looking to join a fast-growing company with a strong mission and vision that puts people first, we want to meet you! Step is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
