Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced healthcare insurance operations professional to support the implementation, launch, and stabilization of a new, high-visibility health insurance product. This individual will serve as the primary operational point of contact, ensuring customer service, claims, enrollment, and supporting teams are prepared for launch and operating effectively afterward.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in self-funded medical insurance operations, strong cross-functional coordination skills, and the ability to proactively identify operational gaps, resolve issues, improve processes, and provide clear updates to leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operational readiness and post-launch activities across customer service, claims, enrollment, and supporting teams.
• Monitor customer interactions, call recordings, transcripts, claims, and enrollment activity to identify process gaps, misinformation, and service risks.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for questions, issue resolution, and escalations.
• Establish and maintain issue tracking, escalation procedures, quality controls, and corrective action processes.
• Partner with project management, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and ensure operational alignment.
• Support employee training, product readiness, job aids, and communication materials.
• Track operational performance, identify emerging trends, and provide concise status reports to leadership.
• Recommend process improvements and establish sustainable operational controls following product launch.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in healthcare insurance operations, preferably within self-funded medical insurance.
• Strong understanding of health plan customer service, claims processing, enrollment, and benefits administration.
• Experience supporting new product implementations, operational readiness, post-launch stabilization, or quality assurance.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, coordinate resolutions, and manage escalations across multiple departments.
• Experience with operational monitoring, quality reviews, process improvement, and issue tracking.
• Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with self-funded health plans, third-party administrators (TPAs), or health insurance carriers.
• Background in healthcare product launches, implementation management, or operational transformation.
• Experience developing training materials, operational playbooks, reporting, and executive-level updates.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements and health plan administration.
Expected Deliverables
• Operational readiness and post-launch oversight plan.
• Issue tracking, escalation, and resolution processes.
• Operational quality monitoring and reporting.
• Training support and process documentation.
• Sustainable controls and transition plan for ongoing operations.
