This role will focus on analyzing and resolving complex claims issues, identifying root causes, improving operational processes, and leveraging data and technology to enhance the overall claims processing experience. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with medical claims processing, BlueCard operations, and Blue Squared, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities • Analyze claim issues and inquiries, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues through resolution. • Research incorrectly processed claims and failed DF/RFs, identify solutions, and coordinate claim repair or system enhancements. • Partner with internal teams and other Blue plans to resolve member and claims-processing discrepancies. • Communicate with other plans through the BCBSA Blue Squared application (RTM). • Evaluate current workflows and identify opportunities to improve claims processing through data, automation, bots, and other technology solutions. • Pull, analyze, and summarize claims and operational data to identify trends, errors, and process improvement opportunities. • Develop, test, implement, and maintain process and technology improvements. • Document processes, procedures, findings, and recommended solutions. • Serve as a departmental SME in meetings, projects, and cross-functional initiatives. • Collaborate closely with Claims Processing, Configuration, Account Management, and other business partners. Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in medical claims processing/adjusting or healthcare administration. • Strong knowledge of BlueCard products and operations. • Experience with the BCBSA Blue Squared application. • Knowledge of medical billing and coding, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS. • Experience researching claims-processing issues and performing root-cause analysis. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with and summarize large amounts of data. • Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Experience with SQL and Microsoft Access preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams. • High attention to detail and ability to work independently within tight deadlines.
