Job description

Regional Sales Manager, Metal Location: Illinois, Wisconsin & Michigan (field-based, near a major airport) Brands: JET • Powermatic • Wilton • Edwards • Baileigh • Axiom At JPW Industries, we don’t just build products – we build careers. Own a territory. Build the pipeline. Grow JPW’s metalworking business account by account. Mills. Lathes. Saws. Fabrication machinery. The equipment that makes metal happen, and the distributors and end-users who put it to work every day. At JPW Industries, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager, Metal to take ownership of our metalworking business across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. This is not an account-babysitting seat. It is a hunter’s seat: you will own the distributor relationships, drive end-user pull-through, and convert opportunities into revenue. With industry-shaping brands like Jet, Powermatic, Wilton, Edwards, Baileigh and Axiom, JPW is redefining excellence in industrial tools and machinery for professionals worldwide. Your territory spans six strategic markets: Manufacturing, Maintenance/MRO, Metal Fabrication, Commercial Construction, Government, and Higher Education. This role sits right in the middle of that growth. If you know metalworking, love the chase, and want a footprint you can call your own, keep reading. What You Will Own As Regional Sales Manager, Metal, you own the health and growth of JPW’s metalworking business across your territory: the distributor partnerships, the end-user pipeline, and the revenue that comes with them. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Field Channel Distributors while keeping a relentless focus on end-user demand. • Your territory’s distributor relationships across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan, enabling their teams and building joint plans that grow JPW’s share. • A healthy, actively managed opportunity pipeline built through proactive prospecting and end-user pull-through. • End-user demand generation: product demonstrations, application support, and direct relationships with engineers and plant-level decision-makers. • Territory revenue: opportunity creation, conversion, and consistent growth against your goals. How You’ll Spend Your Time Own the Channel • Manage and develop relationships with Field Channel Distributors in your territory; train and enable their sales teams on JPW’s metalworking portfolio, applications, and value propositions. • Partner with distributors to build joint business plans, set growth targets, and execute go-to-market strategies, staying distributor-agnostic and always leading with the best solution for the customer. Hunt the End-User • Proactively identify, target, and call on industrial end-user accounts to create demand and generate pull-through business. • Run hands-on product demonstrations and application assessments; build direct relationships with key end users, engineers, and plant-level decision-makers. • Execute targeted field campaigns with Marketing to drive awareness, trial, and conversion. Drive the Pipeline • Build and actively manage a robust opportunity pipeline; track every lead, visit, demo, and activity in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) with consistent reporting discipline. • Drive opportunities from identification through close, coordinating with distributors at each stage, and consistently meet or exceed territory goals. • Serve as the go-to technical resource for metalworking applications (mills, lathes, saws, and fabrication machinery), deliver field intelligence to internal teams, and represent JPW at trade shows and regional events. What You Will Bring: Expertise. Knowledge. Drive. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. • Experience: 5+ years in field sales, channel sales, or technical sales within industrial or metalworking markets. • Channel Expertise: Proven experience managing distributor relationships and driving pull-through business at the end-user level. • Hunter Mindset: A track record of proactive prospecting, pipeline growth, and new account development, not just managing existing business. • Technical Acumen: Strong knowledge of metalworking equipment and applications; confident demonstrating and applying products in a customer environment. • Sales Skills: Proven success in solution selling, with a focus on productivity, cost savings, and safety outcomes. • Tools: Salesforce or equivalent CRM proficiency with strong pipeline reporting discipline. • Travel: Willingness to travel overnight up to 50% within your assigned territory; based near a major airport in IL, WI, or MI. How You Will Show Up: Our “We Are One” Values Success at JPW is measured by more than results; it is grounded in how we work. In this role you will bring to life our “We Are One” core values: • Accountability (We Keep Score & Play to Win): Take personal ownership of your territory’s results and deliver on both short- and long-term goals. Earn trust by consistently following through on what you say you will do. • Problem Solving & Innovation (We Believe in Innovation): Pursue out-of-the-box ideas, big and small, to solve customer and business challenges. Approach problems analytically, identify root causes, and drive solutions with urgency and continuous improvement. • Communication & Integrity (We Act with Integrity): Speak openly and honestly, and tell the whole story, not just what is convenient. Articulate ideas clearly and persuasively across every level of the organization. • Decision Making (We Think Customer First): Make timely, well-reasoned decisions with the end-user and customer at the forefront, prioritizing excellence and accountability even under ambiguity or incomplete information. • Agility & Resilience (We Keep Score & Play to Win): Pivot quickly as market conditions and business priorities evolve. Maintain focus and composure under pressure and drive to get better every day. • Collaboration & Inclusion (We Win as a Team): Believe in the power of collective ideas and diverse perspectives. Build strong cross-functional relationships and create an environment where everyone can contribute and succeed. Why JPW Industries? Lead. Innovate. Deliver.
