Job description

Footprint is the agentic platform that learns your compliance program and runs it end to end. Compliance teams at banks and fintechs are drowning in financial crimes investigations. Transaction volumes are surging, regulators keep raising the bar, and the work still runs on manual review queues stitched together from legacy vendors. Percy, our agentic system, learns each team's procedures and makes the same calls their analysts would: clearing false positives, escalating real risk, writing the case narrative, and documenting every decision for audit. It cuts review workloads by 70%+. The harder problem is underneath. Every investigation is grounded in the data sources compliance teams already trust, and every case commits to an organizational memory that compounds — so a pattern one analyst caught in March surfaces automatically in October, across KYC, EDD, sanctions, and monitoring. Whether the team is five analysts or 500, they share one brain. Every memory carries provenance. Agents propose; humans approve. That's four years of identity infrastructure sitting under the agent, and it's the part nobody can bolt on later. We're backed by QED, Index, and Box Group, and trusted by FDIC- and OCC-regulated banks plus fintechs like Bilt, Nuvei, and MoonPay. We 5x'd revenue last year. The team is small, senior, and ships fast. THE ROLE We are hiring our first Director of Sales to take our Sales team to the next level and enable hyper-growth. Today the team is composed of smart, hungry and exceptionally high achieving AEs who are closing real deals with banks and fintechs. Like most startups, sales leadership has sat with the founders, and the playbook lives in people's heads - what a first call has to uncover, what a second call assumes, which answers predict a close. Now is the time for a Director of Sales because this year the rooms got bigger, the pipeline is growing faster than we can close, and our Marketing team is on track to imminently turn Footprint into a brand name. You would step into a team already firing on all cylinders and take ownership of the Sales operating system: the framework pipeline reviews run on, the written playbook, the data model that turns first-call answers into forecast confidence. This is a player-coach seat: you will carry five to ten deals in your own name while owning the sales process and managing sellers. You will report directly to our CEO. The expected OTE for this role is 320k+ WHAT YOU'LL OWN - Executive presence on our largest and most strategic deals. You take point when a deal needs a senior voice in the room, from first call through security review and signature - Raise the AE team's ceiling. Manage, coach, and develop the sales team day to day - sharpening how reps sell, improving deal execution, and holding a consistently high bar across the team - Own and institutionalize the sales playbook. Turn what works today into a low-friction, repeatable system - from discovery and deal progression to multi-threading and enterprise execution - so every AE sells consistently and new reps ramp quickly - Pipeline discipline and forecasting. Establish clear stage criteria, keep CRM data accurate, and run a rigorous forecasting process that gives leadership a reliable view of pipeline, revenue, and risk - Build the team as we scale. Own the hiring bar, ramp and development of new AEs, and create clear paths for top performers to take on more responsibility STACK HubSpot · Clay · Nooks · Lemlist · Granola. Deep fluency in a CRM-driven operating rhythm matters; the rest you will shape. MUST-HAVE - You have carried a quota selling into banks or other regulated financial institutions, to the compliance, risk or financial-crimes function inside them - You have built or scaled a sales team in the 8 to 9 figure revenue range - You have personally closed enterprise deals in the last twelve months - You have taken a good AE and made them great, and you can say exactly what you changed - You have built a sales playbook and a forecast where none existed, and can quote the conversion numbers they produced - You have quarterbacked complex deals yourself - without a sales ops team, an enablement function, or much marketing air cover - You are comfortable traveling when a deal needs you in the room NICE-TO-HAVE - You have priced AI usage or credit-based deals - our contracts increasingly carry usage components, and this saves you a quarter of learning - You have sold compliance, fraud, or financial-crime software - our buyers run financial-crime and BSA programs, and knowing their world is credibility we cannot teach quickly SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 90 Days - The sales framework is live in HubSpot and pipeline reviews run against it: steady-state deals get minutes, the time goes to winnable long shots and how to get exec support there. The playbook's first version is written. The AEs would tell you, unprompted, that they are better sellers than they were a quarter ago 1 Year - New AEs ramp to confidently running their own processes inside six weeks. The team has grown under you without lowering the bar. The forecast is accurate enough to plan the company on, and regional and super-regional bank deals close in four-month cycles WHY JOIN FOOTPRINT - Massive impact, fast: You'll work on projects that shape company direction, not analysis that gets shelved. - Own meaningful work: From day one, you'll have direct ownership over strategic initiatives that drive the business forward. - Real growth opportunity: Promotion timelines depend on performance: the harder you work, the quicker you'll get promoted. - Winning team and culture: We're a fast-moving, no-BS team that likes to win (and have fun doing it). BENEFITS - 💰 Generous compensation and equity packages - 🍽 Free lunch and dinner (after 7pm) - 💪 Monthly wellness stipend - 🏖 Unlimited PTO - 🏥 Fully covered health, dental, and vision insurance - 🚀 The chance to help shape the future of internet identity and financial crime prevention
