Job description

Role: Manager, MPI Product Strategy and Market Intelligence Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite) Payments data is powerful, but only when it helps people make better decisions. CMSPI is looking for a commercially minded payments manager with strong product instincts to help make the Merchant Payments Index (MPI) one of our most important intelligence products. In this role, you’ll help turn proprietary payments data into better benchmarks, stronger client insight, and practical ways for account teams to advise merchants. You’ll move between payments detail, product thinking, data, and client-facing storytelling: translating real merchant and account-team questions into useful MPI features, insight outputs, and enablement. About CMSPI CMSPI is a global payments consultancy that works with leading merchants to improve payment performance, reduce cost, and make better decisions in a complex payments market. Our work combines deep consulting expertise with proprietary data, analytics, and technology - giving clients the insight and support they need to move from knowing there is a problem to knowing what to do about it. What you'll do • Help manage the MPI product agenda, including roadmap priorities, use cases, adoption plans, success measures, and product requirements • Work with Data, Technical Product, Data Science, and Engineering to improve MPI functionality, methodology, usability, reporting, roadmap execution, and Digital Twin use cases • Help account teams use MPI in client reviews, renewals, growth conversations, and strategic recommendations • Turn trends, benchmarks, risks, opportunities, and market signals into repeatable briefings, insight packs, client education, thought leadership, and practical recommendations • Identify useful external datasets, partnership inputs, and selected client-facing opportunities that make MPI more differentiated and commercially relevant Why CMSPI CMSPI exists to help make the payments ecosystem more innovative, competitive, and transparent. We’ve built a unique position as one of the premier trusted advisors to many of the world’s largest organizations, giving our teams the opportunity to work on questions that shape how major merchants understand and improve payments. You’ll have a distinctive data foundation to build from. MPI is supported by CMSPI’s broader platform, helping turn payments complexity into practical intelligence for clients and account teams, including: • Over 87 billion transactions (and growing), amounting to trillions of USD in consumer spend • Telemetry on 1 in 6 U.S. card transactions and payments performance data from over 50% of Fortune 500 merchants • Over 60,000 BINs, more than 7,000 unique issuers, and 15+ unique card networks spanning over 40 markets globally • Normalized, consistent data drawn from over 400 unique schemas • A Databricks-backed platform supporting scalable insight development and more advanced intelligence products If you enjoy working at the intersection of payments, product, data, and client impact, we’d love to hear from you. What we're looking for • Strong experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, payment networks, issuing, payment operations, payments consulting, data products, product management, market intelligence, or strategy • Practical understanding of how merchants use payments data to make decisions on cost, authorization performance, payment methods, routing, fraud, customer experience, supplier management, or market change • Experience translating business needs into product requirements, analytical questions, data priorities, or technical workstreams • Comfort working cross-functionally with consulting, product, data science, engineering, partnerships, sales, and marketing teams • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex data and market signals into clear, repeatable, client-ready materials • Curiosity, product discipline, analytical confidence, and the ambition to help build one of the market’s most differentiated payments intelligence products • Comprehensive, payments industry training by in-house and industry expert • Personal and professional learning opportunities and growth experiences aligned with your career aspirations. • 100% healthcare coverage for employees and low-cost dental and vision options • Health Savings Account, Flexible Savings Account, and Commuter Benefit options • 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 5% after 90 days of employment • Annual company bonus plan based on company & individual performance • Quarterly values award for all employees - with a financial prize • Regular companywide socials and team building events • 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, 8 paid company holidays, and discretionary office closure during the holiday season
