Job description

ABOUT US Rythm is the fastest-growing lab in America. We redefined at-home testing with the world’s easiest blood test and created a culture around monthly lab testing from home. We’ve processed millions of tests across all 50 states, and we do everything in-house, from sample testing and logistics to code, marketing, and design. That vertical integration gives us the speed, control, and creativity to shape the future of health and wellness. THE ROLE As a Staff Mobile Engineer, you'll play a key role in shaping the mobile experience at the center of Rythm's personalized health platform. This is a highly impactful opportunity for an experienced, hands-on engineer who thrives in early-stage environments and wants to own meaningful work. You’ll work closely with engineering, product, and design to solve complex problems and turn evolving ideas into mobile experiences that feel simple and intuitive. This is a critical position to our business in order to drive the next phase of Rythm's growth. We are looking for someone who can set technical direction while remaining close to the code, move comfortably through ambiguity, and bring strong judgment to both product and engineering decisions. You'll have significant ownership over our mobile architecture, development practices, and the quality of the experiences we deliver to our Rythm customers each and every day. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Own Rythm’s mobile apps from architecture and development through launch and ongoing improvement. • Build reliable, intuitive, and high-quality mobile experiences that make complex health information significantly easier for our customers to understand and use. • Partner closely with product and design to translate evolving requirements into thoughtful technical solutions. • Make practical technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, long-term maintenance, and the member experience. • Help define how we build mobile products, including our approach to testing, releases, performance, security, and monitoring. • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across the mobile stack and the services that support it. • Collaborate with backend and infrastructure engineers to design dependable APIs, data flows, and integrations. • Provide technical leadership through strong execution, clear communication, and high-quality code reviews. • Identify risks, challenge assumptions, and help the team make better technical and product decisions. • Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to increase speed and quality without lowering the engineering bar. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • You’ve built and shipped mobile apps used by real customers and have owned major architectural and technical decisions. • You’ve led complex projects from the initial idea through launch and continued improvement. • Proven experience with native iOS, native Android, or cross-platform mobile development. • A deep understanding of what it takes to build a mobile app that is reliable, fast, testable, and easy to maintain. • Experience integrating mobile applications with APIs, authentication systems, analytics, notifications, and third-party services. • An ability to think beyond the code and make practical decisions based on what’s best for the product and the people using it. • Somebody who absolutely thrives in a fast-moving, highly ambiguous environment. • Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style across engineering, product, marketing and design. • A hands-on mindset; you enjoy leading through building and do not want to move away from the technical work. • Somebody who takes full ownership, has little to no ego, and works well without a lot of structure. • Experience in healthcare, consumer health, direct-to-consumer and sensitive-data environments preferred. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Rythm Health offers a benefits package which includes: • A highly competitive base salary. • Meaningful equity aligned with the scope and impact of your role. • A monthly Rythm membership with full access to at-home blood testing and personalized health insights. • High ownership and visibility from day one, with the ability to make a meaningful impact. • The chance to help shape the future of personalized health and preventative care. • Flexible, remote-first work environment. • A generous paid time off policy. • 401(k). • Multiple healthcare plan options, with select plans fully covered by Rythm. • A small, collaborative, mission-driven team that moves quickly and values great ideas regardless of title.
