Job description

Build the marketing engine that takes Property Meld to the next stage of growth. Property Meld is transforming how property management companies handle maintenance through our Intelligent Maintenance platform. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Director of Marketing who can bring clarity to our story, build scalable go-to-market systems, and make sure our customers, and the market, understand not only what Property Meld does, but why it matters. This isn’t a role where you inherit a marketing playbook and simply run it. You’ll help build the playbook. Location This position is in-office in Rapid City, South Dakota, with a robust and personalized relocation assistance package available. No remote or hybrid candidates will be considered. What you’ll own One company message • Gather insight from Sales, CS, Product, and Support, plus direct customer research, and turn it into messaging for key initiatives. • Make that messaging accurate for three jobs: winning new business, retaining customers, and driving product adoption. • Simplify and unify messaging from every customer-facing team into one standard the whole company uses. • Own brand and voice across the entire organization, not just in marketing's output. • Learn and know our competitors cold across our four customer profiles, and equip every customer-facing team to beat the competitors in each one. Brand leadership with our customers • Build a systematic program that brings customers the latest product updates, best practices, and ideas on a regular cadence. • Help customers get the full value of the platform, so they adopt more features and see better results. • Educate customers and the market on how Property Meld is leading the property maintenance space, and where we're taking it next. • Choose the channels that reach customers best, such as newsletters, webinars, user events, and in-app messaging, and measure what each one drives. Go-to-market systems • Build clear, repeatable GTM processes that work across departments and hold up as we grow. • Plan and lead cross-department initiatives from kickoff to launch, keeping every team on scope and on schedule. • Set up feedback loops so every product release is communicated fully and consistently, inside and outside the company. • Build and maintain the central home for collateral and product information, and make it the place people actually go. • Design marketing systems that scale to $100M ARR, not ones that need rebuilding at every stage. Pipeline and growth • Plan and run the programs that generate demand and support company growth targets, measured by pipeline and revenue impact. • Explore, test, and roll out AI in marketing work, and help the rest of the company learn from what works. Budget • Build and manage a multi-year marketing budget across events, headcount, and paid channels. • Forecast spend against results and report honestly to leadership when something underperforms. People • Scale the effectiveness of the marketing team as the company grows, through hiring, structure, and coaching. • Develop talent inside marketing and across other teams, especially in how they message and sell the product. Why this role matters Great marketing doesn’t live only inside the Marketing department. It shows up in how Sales talks about the product. How Customer Success communicates value. How Product launches something new. How customers understand where we’re headed. And ultimately, how effectively a company grows. As Director of Marketing, you’ll sit at the center of Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Support, turning customer and frontline insight into clear positioning, messaging, and go-to-market systems the entire company can use. Your job is to help us tell one clear, compelling Property Meld story—and build the systems that keep that story consistent as we scale toward $100M ARR. You might be a great fit if you are... • A systems thinker. You see how messaging, process, and teams connect, and you build structures that keep working without you in the room. • A process builder. You turn good ideas into repeatable ways of working that other teams adopt. • A planner who executes. You can run a plan across five departments and actually land it. • A simplifier. You can take ten versions of a story and make one that everyone can use. • A researcher. You go to the front lines, to customers, and to the competition first, and your messaging shows it. • A relationship builder with influence. Leaders in other departments trust you enough to follow your standard. • Financially sharp. You plan spend over years, not quarters, and can defend every line. • A developer of people. You make your team better, and you make people outside marketing better at telling our story. • Intellectually curious. You're already experimenting with AI and want to go further. Qualifications: Required: • 10+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, including 5+ years leading a team. • Built and rolled out company-wide messaging or positioning that other departments adopted. • Designed GTM or product launch processes that worked across Sales, CS, and Product. • Led a cross-department initiative from plan to delivery, with teams you didn't manage. • Built a competitive intelligence program that sales teams actually used. • Owned a marketing budget, including forecasting beyond one year. • Influenced leaders you didn't manage to change how their teams work. • Can show how your work affected pipeline, retention, or adoption, with numbers. Preferred: • Experience in property management, proptech, or vertical SaaS. • Product marketing or sales enablement background. • Helped a company scale through a major ARR stage, such as $20M to $50M or beyond. • Hands-on use of AI tools in marketing workflows. Why it matters... Within your first year, we want to see more than great marketing output. We want to see a company that communicates differently because you’re here. That means our customer-facing teams are aligned around core messaging. Competitive intelligence is actively being used in customer conversations. Product launches follow a repeatable GTM process. Teams know exactly where to find current collateral and product information. Marketing’s contribution to pipeline and revenue is measurable. And the marketing team has the structure and direction it needs for the next stage of growth. Most importantly, the systems you build should work without you needing to be in every room. Pay & Benefits On target earnings (salary and performance incentives) are between $151,000 and $203,000 annually depending on experience. Our benefits package is designed to be part of our employees’ story of living well: • Healthcare • Dental • Vision • 401(k) • PTO • Employee Assistance Program • Relocation assistance Travel This position is in-office in Rapid City, South Dakota and occasional travel is required. Ready to build what’s next? If you’re excited by the opportunity to build—not simply inherit—a marketing organization and go-to-market engine, bring people together around one clear story, and help a growing SaaS company reach its next stage, we’d love to hear from you. Come help us build what’s next at Property Meld.
