Job description

B2B go-to-market software has historically been where design ambition goes to die. The tools are powerful but joyless. Dense, generic, admin-heavy, and built for process more than delight. Meanwhile, the best product companies have raised everyone’s expectations for what business software can feel like: fast, opinionated, elegant, and genuinely useful. AI gives us a chance to rebuild the category from first principles. Mutiny is building the agentic GTM platform that helps revenue teams create the work they need to win. Sellers and marketers should not have to wait on five internal teams to move a deal forward. They should have a bench of AI teammates that understands the account, knows what good looks like, and gets sharper every week. We’re looking for a founding staff designer to define what that feels like. This is not a role where you inherit a mature design system, clean product rituals, or a settled category. You’ll help invent the product language for AI-native GTM software: the interaction model, the creative standards, the feedback loops, the system, and the taste bar for what the agent produces. THE DESIGN PROBLEM Our job is to make AI output that a great seller, marketer, or designer would actually be proud to put in front of a million-dollar account. That requires more than a chat box. It requires data, memory, taste, brand intelligence, workflow design, and a UI simple enough for every rep to use daily but powerful enough to support an entire revenue motion. Some of the questions you’ll help answer - How should a seller direct an agent without becoming the agent’s project manager? - How do we make generated work feel on-brand without making it dull? - What does editing look like when the object is not a static page, but an intelligent system that can regenerate, revise, explain, and learn? - How do we give users confidence and control without burying them in settings? - How do we turn taste into a system the product can improve over time? WHAT YOU’LL OWN The core product experience Design the surfaces where GTM teams ask for work, shape it, review it, edit it, publish it, and learn from it. This includes new product areas, existing workflows, and the connective tissue between agent, asset, data, and user. The creative quality of our agent The product is not just the interface around the output. The output is the product. You’ll partner deeply with engineering to define better defaults, sharper constraints, evals, stronger brand adherence, and feedback loops that make the agent’s work better every week. The way we design together Design at Mutiny is not a service function. You’ll shape product strategy with founders and engineering, push on the roadmap, prototype ideas before they are fully formed, and help us keep reinventing how design, product, and engineering work together in an AI-native company. WHO YOU ARE We're looking for a designer who embodies the following - You’ve shipped real product. Not just beautiful case studies, but things people use. - You have unusually high taste and can explain it without hiding behind vibes. You can look at an AI-generated asset and say why it feels generic, why it misses the mark, and what would make it better. - You’re excited by AI as a design medium. You use modern AI tools in your own work, prototype quickly, and are curious about new interaction patterns that do not fit neatly into old SaaS conventions. - You think in systems, but you still care about the 4px decision. You can zoom from product strategy to interaction model to typography to loading state without losing the plot. - You’re comfortable being early. There will be ambiguity, strong opinions, fast loops, and many moments where the answer does not exist yet. That should energize you. - You make the team sharper. You bring taste, judgment, urgency, and candor. You can challenge founders and engineers without turning design into theater. THIS ROLE IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU If these are the things that make you excited - You want a mature design org with established rituals and clean handoffs. - You prefer to receive scoped requirements rather than shape the problem. - You believe business software just needs to be usable. - You are interested in AI as a feature, but not as a new material for designing software. - You want remote-first work. We work together in person in New York City because the product is being invented through fast loops between design, engineering, founders, customers, and the product itself. WHY MUTINY Mutiny relaunched in April as an agent-first platform for GTM teams. Anthropic has showcased Mutiny as a leader in AI GTM, and customers including Uber, Rippling, Snowflake, GitLab, and Figma use Mutiny to create customer-facing work faster. We’re backed by Sequoia, YC, Insight, and world-class GTM operators. More importantly, we’re building for a moment when the shape of work is changing fast and the design patterns have not been settled yet. If you want to help define what high-taste AI software feels like for revenue teams, this is that seat.
