Job description

About Project Healthy Minds Project Healthy Minds is a mental health nonprofit that runs like a tech startup. We are pioneering a first-of-its-kind model: applying technology to address one of the biggest social issues of our time: the growing mental health crisis. We believe in a simple but profound idea: that it should be as easy to find mental health services as it is to book a flight or a restaurant reservation. That's why we're building the world’s first digital marketplace for finding mental health services that are right for you. To do that, we work with some of the most inspiring and influential leaders in America - business titans, tech entrepreneurs, clinicians and scientists, musicians, artists, athletes, media stars, policymakers, and more - because we believe that the world's most complex challenges require interdisciplinary teams and solutions. We are backed by a powerhouse of industry-leading Board of Directors and Advisory Council Members who are passionate, hands-on, and dive into the important work with us. Learn more at projecthealthyminds.com and @projecthealthyminds on social. About The Role WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR PHM is a small nonprofit team building the front door on the internet for finding mental health care. As our first Product Manager, you'll take ideas from a hunch to a shipped feature with little process and few people around you. You'll find the opportunity in the data, write the spec, run the sprint, and check whether it worked. We handle sensitive health information, so you'll design within privacy and healthcare rules from day one. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Find small, high-impact wins in analytics and user feedback, size them, and ship them with minimal engineering effort • Run sprint planning and delivery in Linear so engineering knows what matters this week and why • Write short, clear specs and take them through product leadership • Work with engineering, design, and our clinical and compliance advisors to ship features that handle health data responsibly • Build the dashboards you need and share what you learn with the team and leadership • Use AI tools to speed up analysis, ticket writing, and documentation • Help with capacity planning and delivery forecasts WHAT YOU'LL BRING • Product experience at a startup or on a small team where you owned outcomes end to end • Proof you're entrepreneurial: something you started, rescued, or shipped with almost no support, whether a product, a side business, or an internal tool nobody asked for • Experience in healthcare or another regulated industry (insurance, fintech, education, government), and comfort working with privacy, compliance, or legal review (strongly preferred) • Comfort with data: college-level statistics or professional analytics experience. You don't need SQL. You need to think clearly about what the data means. • Marketplace or consumer product experience (a plus) • Experience with AI tools, or a strong interest in using them for product work • Resourcefulness, low ego, and high agency • Belief in our mission: connecting Americans to mental health services that actually work for them WHY THIS IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY • Strong backing. Our Board, Clinical Advisory Committee, and partners come from business, academia, medicine, and media, and they're closely involved in the work. • A big goal with the funding to pursue it. We have a multi-year record of year-over-year growth, paid for by philanthropy and earned revenue. • A startup team with a social mission. People here come from venture-backed startups, large companies, and everything in between. They chose a nonprofit because the work can change how people find mental health care. • Direct say in what gets built. You'll work closely with the VP of Product on a small team, and your decisions will show up in what users see. What We Offer • Competitive compensation • Competitive medical, dental, and vision benefits • Paid holidays and generous PTO • Life insurance • Short-term and long-term disability • Spring Health mental healthcare • Commuter benefits • Perks at Work • Experience joining a dynamic start-up environment that is re-writing the playbook for social change in the mental health tech space • Benefits of joining a close-knit, highly-motivated team with mentorship opportunities from a world-class network of founding leaders, Advisors, and Board members • Learning & Development opportunities, including free MasterClass subscriptions • Opportunity to attend inspiring experiences and events with thought leaders, business executives, and iconic speakers across a range of industries • And more (just ask!) The annual salary for this role is $170,000–$210,000 depending on experience. This role is in our New York City office five days a week.
