ABOUT COUNSEL counsel.health Counsel’s mission is to multiply the world's healthcare capacity. We believe in a future in which every person has a personalized, AI-enabled doctor always in their pocket. To accomplish this, we’re building the first fully-vertical, AI-native medical group from the ground up. We’ve redesigned the entire clinical stack with custom AI tools that make our in-house physicians 10x faster and smarter. [learn more on our blog counselhealth.com] Since our founding in 2023, we have formed partnerships with leading healthcare organizations and are on track to serve hundreds of thousands of patients on our platform within the next year. We have raised over $35M from a16z, Google Ventures, Pear VC and other top-tier VC firms. Our team combines deep expertise in medicine (Harvard, Mt. Sinai, Mass General, UCSF) and technology (MIT, Google, DeepMind, NVIDIA, Stripe, Meta) — and we’re looking for exceptional people to join us as we scale. Join us as we build the future of AI in healthcare! ----------------------------------------------------- ABOUT THE ROLE Most healthcare still assumes you can walk into an office during business hours. That's left 100 million people without a primary care doctor, turning to Google with a billion medical questions a day instead of a person who can actually help. We're building something better: the new front door to primary care. AI-augmented, physician-supervised, and available 24/7. We pair patients with in-house doctors through a messaging-first experience and give those doctors an AI clinician cockpit that makes them exponentially more effective. The result is a growing patient base and embedded partnerships with leading digital healthcare enterprises (OURA linkedin.com + more TBA). This is a high-ownership role right at the center of that build. You'll shape the product experiences patients and physicians rely on every day. This role is hybrid, located in NYC or Boston. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Craft user interfaces for new paradigms of AI-enabled care that improve patient engagement and outcomes - Co-create and own product experiences across our patient app and physician-facing care delivery platform, keeping them polished, performant, and accessible - Shape frontend architecture, from design systems and state management to responsiveness, testing, and web performance - Partner with our ML research and backend teams to bring cutting-edge AI/LLM techniques into clinical workflows and turn them into real product experiences - Work closely with Product, Clinical, and Design, as well as prominent healthcare organizations nationwide WHO YOU ARE - Believes great engineering and great design are the same conversation - Takes ownership of hard problems and broad initiatives in a high-growth environment, driving them to completion without needing every detail figured out in advance - Thrives in collaborative, fast-moving environments where the work is ambitious and the team is exceptional - Excited about working at the frontier of medical AI, and what it means to do that responsibly WHAT YOU BRING - 5+ years building production frontend software, startup or high-growth experience is a plus - Deep fluency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS, with strong command of React and Next.js for managing complex state and component architecture (bonus points for Node.js or React Native) - A sharp eye for detail and real expertise in CSS, animation, and design systems, with a habit of shipping beautiful, high-performing interfaces - Familiarity with AI/ML and how recent developments in LLMs apply to real-world product challenges - A genuine interest in leveling up your own skills and the team around you WHAT WE OFFER - Impact: Be at the forefront of AI-augmented care delivery, tackling some of the most ambitious challenges in healthcare. - Growth: Professional development and leadership opportunities within a rapidly expanding tech-enabled care delivery organization. - Exposure: Gain hands-on experience in scaling a fast-growing healthcare technology company and directly interface with executives at the world’s leading healthcare organizations. - Compensation: Competitive salary and equity options. - Benefits: Competitive healthcare, vision, and dental, 401K, Unlimited PTO, snacks and free lunch at the office. ----------------------------------------------------- OUR VALUES - Patients come first. We are clinicians 1st, technologists 2nd. We act with patient trust/safety at the center of every decision. - Innovate with optimism. We are optimistic as we build the future of care delivery from first principles. Challenge the status quo when needed, no sacred cows. - Right answer wins. Debate openly and pick the strongest path. We optimize for the company, not functions. We win and lose as a team. - Simplicity over complexity. We choose clear, elegant solutions and avoid adding complexity that does not serve patients or the team. - Do fewer things, well. We focus, and hold ourselves to the highest bar and pursue excellence in those areas. ----------------------------------------------------- #LI-PINJOB Recruitment Fraud Notice.
