Job description

OUR MISSION ButterflyMX is on a mission to empower people to automate property access, operations, and security from a single platform. Our products are installed in more than 20,000+ multifamily, commercial, gated communities, and student-housing properties worldwide, including properties developed, owned, and managed by the most trusted names in real estate. Our features are designed for developers, owners, property managers, and tenants and our products lower operating costs and improve tenant satisfaction. OUR SOLUTION Developers and owners no longer need to run building wiring or install in-unit hardware. Property managers can grant building access, revoke permissions, and review entry logs from an online dashboard. Residents can open doors from their smartphones, issue visitor access, and see who is trying to enter the building. OUR CULTURE & VALUES Fantastic people are the key to our success. As a distributed, primarily remote workforce, we’re looking for more intelligent, passionate, collaborative, ai-forward, and down-to-earth individuals to join our growing team. We’re driven by a shared commitment to excellence and innovation, grounded in our core values: We delight our customers, We take ownership, We are a community of collaborators, We speak up, We think big and do small, and We are tenacious. ROLE OVERVIEW As our Senior Product Manager for Gated Communities, you will own the Gated Communities product roadmap, working directly with sales, channel partners, and developers to build the next generation of access and security for gated properties. You will also partner with other ButterflyMX product teams on the platform capabilities this segment relies on. This is an AI-forward role: you will use AI to prototype ideas quickly and sharpen product decisions, working closely with engineering to bring them to life. Reporting to the Director of Product Management for Access and Security, you will have the ownership and visibility to define what this segment becomes for ButterflyMX. RESPONSIBILITIES - Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for Gated Communities, defining what it means for ButterflyMX to be a gated-native platform and investing in the capabilities to bring that vision to life - Partner with and influence other ButterflyMX product teams to prioritize gated community needs on their roadmap - Build strong relationships with homebuilders and developers to generate firsthand market signal on how they evaluate, adopt, and scale with a platform - Embed AI into the product where it creates genuine value, not as a feature checkbox but as a lever for better experiences and smarter operations - Define and track the metrics that matter for the segment's health and growth, and use them to inform prioritization - Collaborate with customer experience and implementation teams to improve onboarding, training, and day-one readiness for gated properties REQUIREMENTS - 5+ years in product management with a track record of owning products from concept to market with measurable business impact - Strong product taste with hands-on design fluency: you know what good looks like, can defend it, and take a rough idea to a testable prototype, spanning digital screens and physical moments (e.g. guard check-in and on-site hardware) - Ownership mindset: you are comfortable with ambiguity, curious by default, and energized by defining the path forward when none exists yet - Strong organization and follow-through: you deliver projects and lead cross-functional teams with executional excellence - Sharp communication skills: you can influence across engineering, design, go-to-market, and leadership by writing well, presenting clearly, and earning trust without authority - A builder's mindset: you don't just write specs and hand them off. You use AI and modern tooling to explore ideas quickly, and close the loop between what you ask engineering to build and how it actually works - Nice to have: Experience in proptech, multifamily real estate, or property operations - Nice to have: B2B2C products where the buyer and the daily user are different people - Nice to have: Experience in hardware and software systems working together COMPENSATION The expected base salary range for this position is $180,000-$195,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors including budget, skills, experience, location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, or other forms of compensation, where applicable. BENEFITS - Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision plans (ButterflyMX covers 80% of the cost) starting day 1 - 401(k) plan with a match - 10 paid holidays, 20 vacation days, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays - Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (ButterflyMX covers 100% of the cost) - Short and Long Term Disability (ButterflyMX covers 100% of the cost) - Paid Family Leave - Employee Assistance Program - Quarterly self-care stipends - Access to optional benefits including pre-tax flexible healthcare spending accounts (FSA and HSA), Dependent Care FSA, and Commuter Benefits, as well as optional Supplemental Life, AD&D, Hospital Indemnity, Legal, Accident, Critical Illness, Pet, and Personal Liability Insurance - And more! ButterflyMX is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company.
