SOFT's client located in New York, NY ( Hybrid ) is looking for a Senior Java Developer for a long term contract assignment.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will follow approved lifecycle methodologies, create comprehensive design documents, and perform rigorous coding and testing while upholding the highest secure coding standards and practices.
As a recognized elite individual contributor and subject matter expert, you will work with limited supervision and apply independent judgment to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions.
In this role, you will engage with product teams as a trusted technical partner to drive adoption, resolve complex technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation, and leverage your hands-on senior contributor experience to elevate our technical capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply the principles of software engineering to the design, implementation, configuration, and optimization of solutions to support applications, databases, test automation tools, DevOps processes.
• Demonstrate technical skill in at least two programming general purpose languages (JAVA, Python, Angular (latest versions), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, SQL, or proprietary vendor language, Shell Scripting)
• Experience with Secure Coding and Application Security.
• Experience with Unit, Integration, and Functional Testing experience is required.
• Expertise in Java programming (Java 8 or higher) and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Integration and Spring Security preferred.
• WebSphere Application Server or Liberty and MQ knowledge preferred.
• Advanced level experience with REST APIs, JSON is preferred.
• Experienced knowledge of AWS & Cloud Technologies is preferred.
• Experience with NgRx, RxJS, Connect Direct, containerization (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Perform peer reviews using software engineering principles, patterns, and development guidelines.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and implement technical solutions to meet them.
• Provide on-call support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident management, and service request management for supported products and environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
