Job Title: AWS Platform EngineerLocation: Reston, VA - Hybrid (onsite once a week, onsite interview required) Overview: We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer with 10+ years of IT experience and at least 5 years in cloud engineering (AWS). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS core services, automation, cloud migrations, and infrastructure as code (IaC). Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure.Lead cloud migration initiatives (on-prem to AWS; lift-and-shift).Manage security, IAM roles, policies, and compliance.Develop automation using Terraform and CloudFormation.Support networking, cloud landing zones, and Linux system administration.Implement and manage Redshift, Cloudera, and data platforms.Integrate Gen AI services (Kendra, SageMaker) and Amazon DataZone (nice-to-have). Required Skills:10+ years in IT with 5+ years in AWS cloud engineering.Strong hands-on experience with:AWS core services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, etc.)Terraform, CloudFormationCloud security & IAM managementCloud migrations and automationExperience with networking, Linux, and data platforms (Redshift, Cloudera).Familiarity with Amazon DataZone, Gen AI (Kendra, SageMaker) is a plus.AWS certifications highly preferred.Employers have access to artificial intelligence language tools (“AI”) that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
