Job description

Layer Health was founded in 2023 by leading machine learning researchers from MIT and Harvard Medical School. We are building an AI layer that can accurately and scalably synthesize information from medical records, with the mission to reduce friction everywhere in healthcare. Our LLM-powered platform is solving chart review once and for all, across use cases. For health systems, our first product dramatically accelerates clinical registry abstraction in areas ranging from surgery and cardiology, to oncology. Our long term vision is for our AI layer to safely transform patient care and minimize unnecessary heartbreak. Layer Health’s diverse founding team brings expertise across machine learning, UI/UX, large language models, and medicine. Here’s a collection of articles about our product, mission, recent funding round, etc. Layer Health is hiring Account Directors to lead and grow partnerships with our largest enterprise customers. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will serve as the primary executive owner for health systems adopting applied AI infrastructure - responsible for renewal, expansion, strategic alignment, and outcomes. You’ll combine senior-level relationship leadership, commercial strategy, and product fluency to help customers scale successfully with Layer. What you'll do: Own and grow a portfolio of enterprise health system accounts with accountability for retention, expansion, and customer success. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across clinical, operational, and technology domains. Build expansion strategies aligned to customer priorities and strategic initiatives, grounded in measurable value. Develop multi-threaded executive relationships across C-suite, IT, clinical operations, and transformation teams. Lead account planning, QBRs, forecasting, and deal strategy with rigor and executive clarity. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Implementation to accelerate time-to-value and remove friction. Translate customer needs into actionable product insights that inform roadmap and GTM strategy. What you'll need: 8+ years of experience in enterprise account management, strategic accounts, or partnerships within healthcare technology, SaaS, or data/AI platforms. Proven success managing large, complex health system or IDN relationships with executive stakeholders. Strong understanding of healthcare data, clinical operations, EHR workflows, and interoperability (FHIR, HL7, etc.). Ability to articulate technical value in business terms, and business value in clinical terms. Executive presence, consultative communication, and comfort operating in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment. Organized and analytical with strong forecasting capabilities (Salesforce proficiency preferred). Willingness to travel for customer engagements. Why this role matters: The work you will do directly influences how healthcare delivers safer, faster, and more equitable care to millions of people - reducing waste, unnecessary suffering, and preventable harm. Healthcare is at an AI inflection point - adoption is accelerating, but stakes are high. Layer’s technology is deployed today, delivering real operational and financial value. Every customer becomes a strategic reference shaping market perception and category growth. Account Directors are not “farmers” -they are growth leaders and market-makers. Compensation is dependent on experience, but will likely be a range of $380,000 - $440,000 OTE. Expected compensation ranges for this role may change over time. If your compensation requirement is greater than our posted salary ranges, please still consider applying to our role. We will make a determination as to whether an exception can be made. If you are excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement. We're eager to meet people that believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in a variety of ways. We welcome diverse perspectives, rigorous thinking, and fearlessness in challenging the status quo. Layer Health is committed to fostering an environment of inclusion that is free from discrimination. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer where employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
