Job description
Ketch is redefining responsible data use for the AI era. Thousands of brands rely on our software to responsibly collect, control, and activate compliant, clean data across their enterprise ecosystem. The Ketch Data Permissioning Platform simplifies privacy and consent operations, increases revenue from advertising, data, and AI initiatives, and builds trust with customers and partners. Unlike legacy tools that stop at cookie banners, Ketch governs how data is actually used across a company’s entire stack, with no-code setup that gets customers live in weeks, not quarters.
As privacy regulations expand across the globe and AI transforms how companies use data, the demand for what Ketch has built has never been greater. Data privacy sits at the intersection of law, technology, and consumer trust, making it one of the most exciting and fastest-moving fields in software today.

About Ketch
We’re rebuilding the internet’s data layer for the AI era. Ketch runs systems that analyze billions of events and make millions of decisions every day, giving global brands real-time intelligence and control over how data moves across their entire ecosystem. This requires infrastructure that can keep up with the speed, volume, and complexity of modern AI-driven systems and deliver high-integrity outcomes across billions of data interactions.
We’re a well-funded Series B startup, backed by top-tier investors and led by a team with multiple exits. We build fast, ship with ownership, and work directly with customers to solve their hardest data challenges.
Why Us?
The AI era is breaking every old assumption about data protection. Sensitive data moves faster, through more systems, with higher stakes. Traditional privacy and governance tools can’t keep up. You’ll help build the infrastructure that replaces them.
Join us to engineer real-time systems that actively safeguard personal data at massive scale. You’ll design pipelines that classify and control data as it flows, services that react instantly to risk, and distributed systems that enforce user rights across hundreds of technologies. Your work ensures that companies can use data responsibly and that individuals retain control over how their data is collected and used.
Role Overview
As a Sofrtware Engineer at Ketch, you’ll build the product surfaces that make massive, messy data ecosystems feel understandable and controllable. Our backend and AI systems classify sensitive data, detect issues across hundreds of technologies, and make real-time policy decisions. Your job is to turn this firehose of signals, metadata, and model outputs into interfaces that feel fast, obvious, and trustworthy.
You’ll design workflows that help customers inspect systems, explore classification results, understand why decisions were made, evaluate risk, and take action. This role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, AI insights, and human decision-making: you’re giving users clarity in environments that are inherently complex.
What You’ll Own
Build the interfaces where customers map their entire data ecosystem and see how information moves across systems.
Create React experiences that surface real-time classifications, consent states, policy outcomes, and risk signals.
Craft experiences that bring “privacy by design” to life and are seen by millions of users every day.
Turn AI insights, model explanations, and decision traces into UI that feels obvious and trustworthy.
Build inspection tools that reveal where sensitive data appears, why the system flagged it, and what action to take next.
Work hand in hand with designers to craft reusable components and data patterns that stay reliable across streaming events, large datasets, and complex async flows.
Partner with backend and AI teams to shape the data contracts powering classification, system discovery, and automated governance.
Elevate our design system with patterns that make advanced privacy and governance concepts feel simple.
What We’re Looking For
2-5 years building production web applications, with deep TypeScript and React experience.
A clear understanding of how browsers render, and experience tracking down and fixing real performance problems.
Hands-on experience shipping React interfaces that are fast, clean, and reliable in production. Experience with react-query is a plus.
Ability to design simple, predictable state patterns and work confidently with async data and evolving UI flows.
Comfort working with backend and AI engineers to shape APIs and turn raw data into great product experiences.
A product-first mindset with clear communication and a bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating quickly.
Willingness to dive into performance issues, edge cases, and the small details that make a UI feel polished.
Excitement about privacy, data, and AI, and a desire to make complex technology feel intuitive for real users.
Familiarity with testing, design systems, and the practical best practices that keep a startup moving fast.
