Job description

In 2026, we launched Computer, the defining product for the new era of agentic AI. We’ve scaled beyond the millions of people using Perplexity every day for research, shopping, investing and curiosity into a new paradigm of using AI to transform knowledge into action. Product Managers at Perplexity work closely with design and engineering, focusing on the core agentic and search experiences. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and writing skills, the ability to envision innovative technology, and willingness to reimagine work to be more efficient and creative. Ideal candidates have a passion in a particular industry that they are domain experts in: in the application please highlight which industry you are most interested in innovating. THE ROLE The Core Experience team owns the foundational interactions that define how people use Perplexity every day. This includes how users begin and continue work, understand what the product is doing, navigate and find what they need, manage their context and preferences, collaborate with others, and return to ongoing work across platforms. You will identify the highest-leverage user problems, translate them into clear product direction, and partner closely with design, engineering, data science, and research to deliver experiences that feel fast, intuitive, cohesive, and dependable. This role requires strong product judgment, deep user empathy, analytical rigor, and an exceptional eye for detail. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Anticipate opportunities for innovation and value in enterprise industries. - Envision new experiences and deliver a long-term vision. - Understanding of levers for product-led growth and retention. - Work closely with engineering and design to align product expectations and capabilities. - Work with research to evaluate and steer nondeterministic models into the high value outcomes for users. - Have conviction to make difficult product decisions in the face of uncertainty. - Develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and friction through direct product use, qualitative research, product data, and experimentation. - Make complex AI behavior understandable and controllable through clear interaction models, thoughtful defaults, and well-designed feedback. - Drive alignment when improvements span multiple product surfaces, platforms, or teams. - Communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and learnings clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners. QUALIFICATIONS - Strong experience with product management and leadership. - Strong experience working with data and metrics. - Experience with productivity and knowledge work products. - Experience with prototyping and data visualization. - Experience with building data driven flywheels for iterative improvement. - Thrives in a small, agile team: has initiative and desire for ownership. - 4+ years of product management experience. OUR MISSION Perplexity's mission is to power curiosity. Curious people are the people who drive change in the world. Driving change is a continuous cycle of learning, building, and integrating. Learn: curious people constantly learn new things by asking more. They question the status quo in their own expertise and they constantly learn outside of it. Research is essential to them and never ending. Build: curious people make and create things, to show the world their new answers to problems no one else ever questioned. They take action on what they've learned. Makers need tools to create their products, their companies, their reality. Integrate: they must interact with the world as it is to drive change and adoption. True leaders do not simply build something and hope. They must have armies of agents and workers who can constantly work in millions of small ways. Repeat. For curious people this is a cycle that never ends.
