ABOUT MIDDESK:
Middesk is building the data and intelligence infrastructure that helps businesses work together with confidence. We started by creating a comprehensive platform for understanding businesses, bringing together authoritative and proprietary data to help customers verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and manage risk throughout the customer lifecycle.
Today, Middesk is used by more than 700 banks and fintechs, and in 2025 we verified more than 7 million companies. We've also expanded beyond business verification to help companies form, register, manage, and maintain their businesses, supporting more than 50,000 companies in setting up over 100,000 accounts required to hire employees, run payroll, and stay compliant.
Middesk came out of Y Combinator, and is backed by Sequoia Capital, Accel, Insight Partners, and Canapi. We're proud to be named on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Best Startup Employers lists.
About Middesk
Middesk’s mission is to make it easier for businesses to work together through building the best-in-class business identity platform. Our APIs allow B2B companies to access the information, insights, and documentation they need to onboard and transact with their customers. Our products help product, risk, and finance teams make informed regulatory compliance and commercial credit decisions, confirm that suppliers meet federal and state licensing requirements, and register their customers with the necessary government agencies.
The Role
Middesk is looking for a high-energy, driven professional with business acumen, technical aptitude and sales instincts to join our competitive Sales organization as a Sales Development Representative (SDR).
As an SDR, your primary responsibility will be to uncover and qualify new opportunities within Middesk’s target market, focusing on the banking, lending, and payments verticals. Since our SDRs serve as the first point of contact for prospects and customers, your success will be measured by efficient prospecting and outbound efforts to break into new accounts, build relationships across all levels of our customer segments, and create opportunities that drive new business.
Your conversations will reflect a deep understanding of your buyer, their business, and what Middesk means to their success. Ideal candidates will be eager to advance their careers by demonstrating tenacious self-starting qualities every day with a proven track record of grit and resilience.
On the SDR Team, we pride ourselves on setting challenging goals, and having fun achieving them together. The right candidate is someone who thinks outside the box, thrives under pressure, and is hyper-focused on meeting targets every single month. We value our culture and are looking for optimistic and motivated people to join our team. Are you up for the challenge?
What You'll Do
- Drive lead generation and cultivate enduring relationships through strategic outreach, leveraging our tech stack and various channels.
- Strategically target accounts, creating a personalized outbound approach for key prospects and decision-makers.
- Identify prospective customer’s needs and present Middesk’s products and services as solutions, drawing on extensive knowledge and research to explain how our offerings meet their needs.
- Become a product expert who is knowledgeable about customer’s needs and can easily convey how our solutions uniquely address their most pressing challenges.
- Develop detailed plans to achieve predetermined goals and quotas on a quarterly basis.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience of at least 6 mo-1 year in SaaS Sales Development or similar role. We’re looking for a highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record of success in sales.
- Comfortable cold calling, prospecting, and conducting thorough outreach using tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, LeadIQ, and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator. A proven track record of achieving sales metrics and consistent achievement of quota attainment makes for an ideal candidate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Your primary charter is to talk to our prospects. Whatever form of communication that requires, you must represent yourself, the team, Middesk, and our customers well. Clear, concise, actionable communication is imperative.
- The ability to work in a fast paced, team environment. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated the ability to problem solve autonomously, manage your time well, and remain organized. When faced with challenges, you’ll take initiative to resolve them and deliver your best work.
- Motivation, drive and a positive self-starting attitude. You will meet these criteria by showing a strong desire to pursue a career in Sales and willingness to achieve results. We’re looking for the curiosity and perseverance to push harder when the going gets tough. This is a fast-paced, high pressure role where change is constant – optimism is a must.
- Growth mindset and a desire to win. You’ll demonstrate a commitment to learning and continuous development and show this through proactive reflection and the ability to receive, digest, and action constructive feedback. The best SDRs are those who continue to learn and get better every day.
- Be a team player by working collaboratively to share information, foster teamwork, and contribute to a positive work environment. You act with integrity and intent, hold yourself accountable for your actions, and behave according to our company values.
