Job description

Long Wall Company was created in 2024 to accelerate missile defense technology for the U.S. and our allies. We specialize in ballistic missile defense and are developing Cyclops, a low-cost, mass-producible interceptor. We also produce containerized launchers and offer low-cost targets for threat replication. The future of global security depends on defensive technology that redefines cost, magazine depth, and distribution to deter and defend against evolving threats. Join us. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Mission-Driven Problem Solvers – The problems in missile defense demand ingenuity. We want engineers who approach challenges with curiosity, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and stay focused on delivering the best solution for the mission. Total Ownership – We seek engineers who take full responsibility for delivering flight-ready work while recognizing that no one succeeds alone. The best engineers make their teammates better, knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success. Sr. Electronics Design Engineer As a Sr. Electronics Design Engineer, you will lead the design, development, build, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for missile defense technologies at Long Wall. You will have the opportunity to be a key member of a small team of mechanical, fluid, and electrical engineers working to develop innovative deployable missile defense solutions. This individual will be responsible for electrical design, test, and integration, from concept to production, while ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. This is a responsible engineer role that contributes to every mission and every flight we fly as we continue to reimagine the future of missile defense systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: Rapidly design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with our Platforms. Drive electrical architecture, specification, component selection, schematic capture, circuit board layout design, implementation, low-level firmware development, verification, board bring-up, and debugging. Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing teams, and production test teams. Derive engineering justification to resolve production issues throughout assembly, test, and vehicle integration Generate and maintain design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and verification test reports. Support board bring-up, integration, and qualification testing to ensure flight-ready reliability. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field AND 8 years of relevant experience. or Master’s degree AND 6 years of experience. or PhD AND 3 years of experience Relevant Experience : working in space, aerospace, or equivalent professional environments with direct hands-on experience developing complex electrical power conversion systems. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES: Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer) Strong skills in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics Experience working in cross-functional teams across software, mechanical, and manufacturing Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or C/C++ PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES: Min. 5+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products. Min. 5+ years of electronic product experience designing hardware from concept through production; strong emphasis on full life cycle development of new hardware products and not small incremental updates to legacy hardware. Min. 5+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit host boards from concept through production using processors, FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs. Experience implementing Ethernet, multi-GHz SerDes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), PCIe, I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, and power supply components. Min. 5+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics. Experience working in military or aerospace industries with a strong background in MIL-STD-461, 464, 810, DO-160 compliance, or similar industrial/automotive standards. Strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++). Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role. Self-starter with demonstrated experience on multiple projects, making hardware work within demanding time and resource constraints Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
