Job description

Join us in building intelligent robotic systems that perceive, learn, and act in the real world. You'll develop the computer vision, machine learning, and control systems that power our first-of-its-kind robotic workcells, working across prototypes in the lab and deployed systems at scale. As a Software Engineer on the Vulcan team, you'll work on end-to-end robotic systems that combine hardware and software innovation. Your day might include designing and implementing computer vision algorithms for object detection, developing machine learning models for robotic decision-making, or optimizing motion planning systems for real-world deployment. You'll partner with hardware engineers, roboticists, and data scientists to integrate your software into functioning workcells. You'll also participate in monitoring system performance, conducting A/B tests on new features, and troubleshooting issues as they arise in both controlled lab environments and production deployments. This role offers the opportunity to see your code directly impact physical systems and to learn from an interdisciplinary team building every layer of the robotic stack. Key job responsibilities - Design, develop, and deploy computer vision and machine learning systems that enable robots to perceive and grasp their environment - Build and optimize robotic control algorithms and motion planning systems for real-world deployment scenarios - Implement end-to-end monitoring, fault detection, and diagnostic tools to ensure robotic systems operate reliably at scale - Conduct large-scale model training, simulation, and A/B testing to validate and improve system performance - Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate software components with robotic hardware and manage the full deployment lifecycle A day in the life Amazon offers a full range of benefits that support you and eligible family members, including domestic partners and children.
