Job description

Intuit is a global technology platform that helps our customers and communities overcome their most important financial challenges. We help give over 50 million consumers, small business, and self-employed customers around the world the opportunity to prosper. Join the Development Productivity organization responsible for tools and platforms that enable and empower Builders at Intuit. We bring cutting-edge technology and tools to all Intuit developers — including AI-powered agentic workflows that span coding, code review, agent orchestration, context, and memory. If you are passionate about system design and architecture, AI agents, data-driven decision making, automation, and building platforms with enterprise-wide impact, this job is for you! You will collaborate across multiple pods and cross-functional partners to align roadmaps, resolve dependencies, and ship customer-driven solutions that reduce the burden of indirect tax compliance. We love engineering leaders who build strong teams, are unafraid of complex regulatory and technical challenges, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and care as much about operational excellence as they do about the customer experience. You'll be expected to lead as an AI-native leader: partnering with peer teams and BUs to drive and scale adoption of platform tools and solutions, innovate and keep embedding AI into how your teams build and ship, and encouraging contributions back to shared platforms so the rest of the engineering organization benefits. Responsibilities • Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers responsible for indirect tax determination, calculation, and e-filing systems, ensuring high engineering standards and strong delivery execution. • Create a shared vision and build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and alignment with partners across the business (e.g., Product Managers, Program Managers, Development Managers, Tech Leads, Principal Engineers across the org). • Inspire others through action, creating a spirit of collaboration for the benefit of our customers; bring out the best ideas from the best engineers by empowering them and leading by example. • Champion engineering best practices — code quality, testing, and architecture reviews — while staying hands-on enough to guide technical decisions and unblock the team. • Drive AI-Native Engineering: Lead the adoption of GenAI platforms and AI-assisted workflows within your teams to accelerate delivery, optimize code quality, and build intelligent features directly into the tax platform. • Scale and Direct Multi-Pod Teams: Lead, structure, and scale a large engineering organization (across multiple pods and tech leads), fostering operational excellence, team health, and high execution standards. Qualifications • 4+ years of experience as a people manager or established technical leader of software engineering teams. • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a track record of building reliable, scalable backend systems; experience in Developer Productivity and Developer Platform domains is a strong plus. • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, empower engineers, and cultivate a strong team culture while managing multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines. • Expertise in the Software design/architecture process. • Hands-on experience while managing. • Experience with AI frameworks, agentic workflows, and LLM integration (e.g., OpenAI API, Anthropic API, LangGraph) • Experience with AI tools, infrastructure and terminology (Cursor, Claude Code, MCP, Plugins/Skills, Context, Memory, Orchestration) • Strong experience with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • • Experience with Agile development and methodologies. • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. • Preferably - experience working with global teams. • AI-First Mindset & Execution: Practical experience leveraging AI technologies (e.g., LLM integrations, AI-driven development tools, Agent Driven Development, automated testing models) to drive engineering efficiency and product innovation. • Strong Technical Architecture Background: Deep technical grounding in distributed backend systems, microservices/monoliths, with the ability to participate in high-level system design and evaluate complex technical trade-offs. • BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent work-related experience. Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits ). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is: Mountain View $222,000 - $300,500
