Job description

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. This position expands the capacity of the Google Data Center Design Execution team to scale with the rapidly expanding portfolio of data center builds across the United States. This role is responsible for developing design delivery strategies, managing the delivery of all data center designs in the US-West Region, helping managing professional design services (architect/engineering firm) relationships across North America/South America (NASA), trending quality performance and lessons learned across the overall design program, and consistent reporting of program health to executive leadership. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $240000 - $333000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google . • Manage multiple, simultaneous data center design projects from detailed design through construction administration and finally closeout and handover to operations. • Be responsible for gathering internal requirements, generating potential options, presenting to the leadership team, and delivering design solutions that satisfy customer's needs. • Create and manage strategies for the execution of designs that leverage a standard baseline plan of record. Be responsible for managing strategy for projects that require deviation from the baseline design (due to environmental, code or other aspects that require localization). • Be tasked with overcoming critical challenges while maintaining rigorous adherence to project timelines, quality and costs, and managing a cross functional set of stakeholders. • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. • 10 years of experience in program management.
