Job description

HI! WE'RE FORERUNNER. Stronger, more resilient communities are built by the people inside government and regulated industries who keep critical infrastructure running. But they're working against real headwinds: fragmented data, field crews without the right tools, and high-stakes decisions made without a complete picture. Forerunner exists to fix that. We build intelligent software that connects the systems these agencies and firms already rely on, fills the gaps those systems can't, and turns fragmented information into decisions and actions that reduce liability, surface revenue, and prevent small problems from becoming emergencies. About the position: We're looking for a talented Business Development Representative with 1-3 years of experience to join our company to provide support to our sales teams. Your responsibilities will include: - Identify high-potential government customers and execute outbound strategies to connect them to Forerunner - Move leads through the funnel, arranging meetings with an Account Executive - Develop and lead campaigns from idea-generation through to qualified calls and determine how best to scale them - Partner with Account Executives at Forerunner to build strategies and prospect into designated accounts - Effectively work through lead list meeting/exceeding SLAs, consistently update activity and contact information within the CRM system and support weekly reporting effort In general, the Business Development Representative role may be a good fit if you: - Have demonstrable proficiency solving ambiguous problems. You are an analytical individual who enjoys creating structure where there is none, tackling problem solving creatively, and working collaboratively to achieve goals. - Have strong verbal and written communication skills. As a Business Development Representative, effective communication is vital. You should articulate ideas clearly in writing and verbally engage prospects to generate interest and meaningful connections. - Have an eye for detail. Attention to detail is crucial. You'll manage prospect data and interactions, ensuring accuracy in our CRM system to maintain an organized pipeline. - Strong interest in climate adaptation and technology. Your enthusiasm will drive your understanding of our products and enable you to communicate their value effectively to potential clients. OUR TEAM HAS A LOT TO OFFER. Forerunner is an early stage company with an interdisciplinary team. We are motivated by seemingly intractable problems and work hard to support one another. - We're mission-driven. Our mission orients our business strategy and pushes us to work with a sense of urgency. We’re in the weeds -- our entire team spends time engaging with our partners in the field to better understand the real-world problems they face. - We're a small team. As a member of our growing team, you will quickly become an invaluable part of our organization and have a meaningful impact on our business and technical direction. We welcome unique perspectives and backgrounds. Your opinion matters and we hope you'll share it. - We value in-person connection, so we keep offices in NYC, San Francisco, and Portland, ME. Roles can be hybrid or fully remote, depending on the work. - We want you to be happy and healthy. Forerunner offers competitive compensation, health/vision/dental coverage, and commuter benefits. We also have a quarterly wellness reimbursement so that you can have flexibility in defining what “health” means to you. The base pay for this position is $50,000-$80,000 annually with an OTE of $80,000-$110,000. This posting may span more than one career level.
