GEOSPATIAL SOLUTIONS ENGINEER (JUNIOR) – FBI; HUNTSVILLE, AL A CURRENT U.S. TOP SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED TO APPLY – NO EXCEPTIONS U.S. CITIZEN ONLY FULL-TIME / ON-SITE ONLY Bow Wave is looking for a Junior Geospatial Solutions Engineer who will work closely with our lead GIS solutions engineers and systems integration team. Design and develop tools and applications that leverage the ArcGIS REST and Python API allowing automation of a variety of GIS tasks such as automating map production, publishing web services, updating data sources across different databases, web map generation, and more. This individual will support critical automation tasks to help manage deployments, metrics, user access and other tasks. Working within an Agile based process, the person in this role will be responsible for developing data driven solutions for incident operations and national security events using products such as Esri Dashboard, Web App Builder (WAB), Survey 123, Field Maps, and Story Maps. In addition, this role will provide system management support of an ArcGIS Enterprise that entails troubleshooting Esri application deployment and implementing IT solutions to provide stability of the systems. Responsibilities: • Envision, design, and develop cloud-based web applications and data management strategies for large-scale deployment and management in the Homeland Security community • Rapidly prototype cloud-based web applications to showcase new concepts and ideas • Quickly convert customer ideas to minimum-viable-products using the entire ArcGIS suite of tools • Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture • Solve and articulate complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences • In-depth experience leveraging ArcGIS Dashboard, Insights, S123, Field Maps, ExB, and WAB • Write technical design specifications and support documentation • Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use • Estimate the duration and level of effort of development tasks through collaboration with SME and leads Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in geospatial, computer science, earth sciences, IT focused discipline, or equivalent work experience • 2+ years geospatial solution engineering experience • Active Top Secret Security Clearance • Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context (hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing) • Experience deploying, upgrading, and/or administrating ArcGIS Enterprise / Operating and Maintaining GIS • Experience managing the integration of data services and ingests between record keeping systems and GIS • Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology • Experience integrating software solutions • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS (GovCloud) • Experience managing the implementation and documentation of network security requirements Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and Desktop suite creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications. • Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure / data ingestions • Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python, JavaScript, HTML • Experience managing the implementation and documentation of network security requirements • Working knowledge or experience with cloud computing concepts and environments, such as Microsoft Azure or AWS; providing support within cloud security, cloud architecture and design, troubleshooting, and cloud deployment Acronyms: ExB = ArcGIS Experience Builder WAB = ArcGIS Web Application Builder S123 = Survey 123 Due to the nature of the work we support, all candidates in consideration for this role must be U.S. Citizens willing to undergo the government issued background investigation process.
