Job description

TransPerfect Is More Than Just a Job… Our greatest asset is our people, and nothing is more important to us than ensuring that everyone knows that. Each of our 100 offices has its own individual identity, and each also has its own unique rewards. 0–2 Years Experience | Automation a Plus Who We Are TransPerfect is the world s largest provider of language services and technology solutions for global business. From offices in over 160 cities on six continents, TransPerfect offers a full range of services in 170 languages to clients worldwide. More than 6,000 global organizations employ TransPerfect s GlobalLink® technology to simplify management of multilingual content. TransPerfect has global headquarters in New York, with regional headquarters in London and Hong Kong. What We re Building We re a small team inside TransPerfect building a massive internal platform a low-code application builder that s powering how our entire company operates. It s ambitious, it s complex, and it s not done. That s exactly why it s fun. Think: • Not just a bug-logging role • You ll shape quality standards and help build testing infrastructure from the ground up • Complex, data-driven interfaces that need thorough, thoughtful QA • Enterprise-scale impact… without enterprise-level red tape We operate more like a startup embedded inside a global company. We move fast, figure things out as we go, and need people who are excited to make sure what we build actually works—reliably, at scale, every time. What You ll Actually Be Doing You won t just find bugs. You ll help define what quality means for this platform. • Write, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for a drag-and-drop application builder • Identify, document, and track bugs with clear, reproducible steps • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to catch issues early in the dev cycle • Help build out regression test suites as features evolve • Contribute to QA processes and documentation that grow with the team • Participate in sprint planning and review to understand what s being shipped and what needs coverage The Kind of QA Engineer This Role Needs We re not looking for someone who just runs a checklist and closes tickets. We re looking for someone who: • Asks what could go wrong here? before a feature ships • Is comfortable when specs are incomplete or evolving • Can think from the user s perspective, not just the test plan • Takes ownership of quality • Communicates clearly with engineers, not just in Jira • Wants a career in quality engineering, not just a job If you ve worked somewhere perfectly structured with locked-down processes: this will feel different. If you ve ever found a bug no one else caught and felt genuinely good about it: you ll fit right in. Core Technical Skills We don t expect you to know everything on day one. You should have a solid foundation in: QA Fundamentals • Understanding of the software developer lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies • Experience writing test cases, test plans, and bug reports • Familiarity with functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing • Comfort working in Agile/Scrum environments Tools & Platforms • Bug tracking tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar • Basic understanding of browser developer tools for frontend debugging • Familiarity with API testing concepts (Postman or similar is a plus) Automation (Preferred, Not Required) • Exposure to test automation frameworks: Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar • Basic scripting ability in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated tests fit in A Design Mindset We need QA engineers who care about UX, not just pass/fail. • You notice when something works technically but feels broken to a user • You think about edge cases that live in the gap between spec and reality • You can communicate UX observations clearly to engineers and PMs What It s Like Working Here Let s be real: • We re building something big with a small team • The structure isn t perfect • Priorities can shift • We re figuring some things out as we go But also: • You ll have real ownership over quality—not just a slice of a ticket queue • Your findings will actually change what ships • You won t be stuck running the same regression suite forever • You ll help define how QA evolves on this platform Why This Role Is Worth It If you re looking for: • A highly structured, perfectly documented test environment → this isn t it • A chance to build quality practices from the ground up → this is it • Real ownership at the start of your QA career → this is it This is a role for someone who wants to: • Build, not just execute • Influence what ships, not just report what broke • Grow into a QA engineer who understands the whole product The Basics • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred) • 0–2 years of QA or software testing experience (internship or project work counts) • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking • Clear written communication, you ll be writing a lot of bug reports • AI can be a useful tool, but our engineers are expected to function without it Where Your Career Is Going At TransPerfect, there are real growth opportunities. We encourage continuous dialogue with management about your path whether that s deepening your automation expertise, moving into SDET work, or growing into a QA lead role. All of that is on the table. Why TransPerfect For more than 25 years, we ve built a culture where ideas are shared and new ventures are welcomed. From Intern to President, every employee should have a voice. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, child-care provider membership, and other TransPerks. You even get your birthday off—because we re glad you exist. TransPerfect provides equal employment opportunity to all individuals regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law. Final Thought We re not pretending this is a polished, perfectly structured role. We are saying: if you re the kind of QA engineer who asks hard questions, thrives on making complex software better, and wants to help shape something meaningful from early in your career— You ll probably love it here.
