With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers youtube.com.
The team:
Our Senior Solutions Engineer will join a rapidly growing group integral to Jobber’s core strategy. This team plays a key role in expanding our software solutions to meet all our Service Providers needs. Our app marketplace is growing with interest from a variety of external partners of all stripes. You will work closely with our Partnerships group, specifically our Platform Experience Engineering team and our Business Development group. You’ll also work with external development teams of all shapes and sizes. All of these groups work hand in hand to get valuable integrations shipped and added to Jobber’s marketplace.
At Jobber we never stop growing and learning, and you shouldn’t either. Through continuous 1:1’s, dedicated feedback and support from your manager and our Learning and Development team, and your own sense of curiosity, we hope you develop to another level with your skill set.
The role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering, as a Senior Solutions Engineer you will leverage your expertise in application marketplaces and APIs to drive the success of our integration initiatives. You will work closely with both technical and non-technical teams, as well as leadership, to create impactful solutions to help our customers and their small businesses be successful. You will collaborate with the partnerships team and external partner groups to deeply understand their technical operational needs and translate those conversations into actionable engineering plans. You will work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, marketers, sales and leadership to bring these products to life and accelerate partner growth.
We’re looking for people who are ready to solve problems that millions of entrepreneurs are facing, using their experience to influence both a product and our team, all the while still working on developing their own craft. At Jobber we never stop growing and learning, and you shouldn’t either. Through continuous 1:1s, dedicated feedback and support from your manager and our Learning and Development team, and your own sense of curiosity, we hope you develop to another level with your skill set.
As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will:
- Work with Business Development, Jobber Engineering and External Third Parties to propose and design solutions that meet all parties needs.
- Develop and implement integration strategies that enhance our application marketplace offerings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize API solutions (REST and GraphQL).

- Actively participate in code reviews and testing processes to ensure code quality and maintainability
- Champion the development of consistent engineering practices and reusable code solutions to enhance overall efficiency
- Participate in discussions to drive consensus on optimal solutions for complex customer problems
- Research, promote, and implement industry best practices within your team's domain, staying at the forefront of technological advancements
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members at all levels, fostering their professional growth and career development
To be successful, you should have:
- Previous experience in a solutions engineering or similar role.
- Proven experience in application marketplace development and management.

- Proven leadership experience championing complex, high-impact projects and serving as core contributor
- Exceptional proficiency in software design, architecture, and coding, with a focus on maintainability and performance
- Outstanding collaboration and communication skills, coupled with the ability to significantly amplify the team’s productivity and effectiveness through mentorship/coaching
- Strong self-motivation and resourcefulness, with the capacity to independently identify and leverage necessary resources for project delivery and problem-solving
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize tasks effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Passionate commitment to continuous learning and professional growth, with a track record of staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends
It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you had:

- Experience with our development stack: React, React Native, TypeScript, GraphQL API layer, and Ruby on Rails on AWS.
Hiring Process:
- An interview with a Talent team member (45 mins)

We believe great collaboration is intentional, and sometimes that means coming together in person to build, brainstorm, and connect. To support this, the role is open to candidates based in one of our hub cities: Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo.
Compensation:
At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and supportive of your experience and growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $125,800, a midpoint of $147,900, and a maximum salary of $170,100, designed to reflect the progression from learning the ropes to truly excelling.
We design our compensation to reflect each new hire's skills, experience, and the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise and lasting contributions, while offers below the midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop. This approach ensures that compensation aligns with both an individual's current capabilities and their opportunity for future growth.
Base salary is just one part of a total compensation package that will include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums for body and mind. Your professional growth matters to us too! You'll have access to a dedicated talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for career development. We believe in transparency and open conversations about compensation. If you have any questions about our approach, we're happy to discuss them throughout the hiring process!
What you can expect from Jobber:
- A total compensation package that includes an extended health benefits package with fully paid premiums for both body and mind, matching in RRSP, TFSA or FHSA, and stock options.
- A dedicated Talent Development team and access to coaching, learning, and leadership programs to help you grow your career, reach your goals, and unlock your full potential.
- A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a $400-billion industry that has no dominant player...yet.
- To work with a group of people who are humble, supportive, and give a sh*t about our customers.
We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process.
