Job description

ABOUT CHAI DISCOVERY Chai Discovery builds the computer-aided design suite for molecules. Eli Lilly endpoints.news, GSK endpoints.news, Pfizer forbes.com, Bristol Myers Squibb linkedin.com, argenx x.com and Novartis chaidiscovery.com all use Chai to power drug discovery programs. AI is reinventing life sciences the same way it reinvented software engineering, and our team is building that future. We train frontier models that learn the underlying foundations of biochemical structure and interaction. We pair this with a computational workspace to iterate on molecules from idea to medicine, helping scientists move faster and develop medicines beyond the reach of existing methods. We value diverse perspectives and are ready to find greatness in unexpected places. ABOUT THE ROLE Build the computational workspace where scientists use Chai’s models and agents to design medicines. Molecular engineering still needs its own abstractions and product layer. You will help invent this category of software, owning the last mile from model capability to the experiments scientists run and what they learn. - Work directly with scientists and Chai’s model researchers to understand their problems and decide what to build. - Own the work from the first customer conversation through to a product they depend on and appreciate, going as deep into the science, compute, models, research, and software as the problem requires. - Work forward deployed with our customers, ship across the stack, and refine the product and its core abstractions as you learn. ABOUT YOU We look for engineers who can make sense of messy real-world problems and build simple solutions end to end. Former founders and engineers who have owned substantial products are a particularly good fit. Familiarity with the scientific domain is not required. We value technical depth, product judgment, and a record of building things that are meaningful and useful to people. WE OFFER The opportunity to work at the vanguard of AI research and frontier biology, with world-class people, on a mission that matters. We protect and promote a culture of high velocity and ownership. We compensate our team accordingly.
