Job description

WHY NUMERIC Every business runs on accounting, but the systems underneath it were built for a different era. Today’s ERPs don’t store a company’s financial data. They store a diluted copy of it. Every contract, lease, and invoice gets flattened into a journal entry, and the context that made it meaningful is thrown away. That’s why accounting teams spend every month re-checking numbers, stitching together spreadsheets, and waiting on engineering, and why AI struggles to do real accounting work. Accounting doesn’t have a reporting problem. It has a data problem. Enter Numeric: the data platform finance teams run on. We started with the month-end close, where the data problem hurts most, and hundreds of finance teams now run their close on Numeric. That work led us to rebuild the system of record itself. In September 2026 we launched the Financial Data Platform (FDP), a platform built for the agent era. Instead of a journal entry, the real business object enters the system and the accounting is derived from it. Every number is traceable to its source, reporting works on any dimension, and accountants and AI agents finally have enough context to work together. While others bolted AI features onto the old data model, we built a new one. We have a growing base of customers who love our product, including Anthropic, Plaid, Brex, Betterment, Wealthfront, and Asana. We’ve raised $89M from top-tier investors including IVP, Menlo Ventures, Founders Fund, and 8VC, along with founders and executives from Ramp, Segment, and other category-defining companies. We’re hybrid but in-office first, with teams in New York, San Francisco, and London, and we just shipped the product that will define our next decade. There’s never been a better time to join. About the Role We’re growing fast and looking for a driven BDR to join our sales team and accelerate outreach efforts. As a BDR at Numeric, you’ll be a direct contributor to our pipeline. You’ll work a proven playbook, stay disciplined, and open doors for our AEs to have meaningful conversations with prospects. The BDRs who deliver consistently are the ones who earn their shot at an AE seat. In this role: - You’ll learn to quickly gain trust by mastering cold calling or through consultative email and LinkedIn messages. - You’ll build account maps for target accounts that fit Numeric’s ideal customer profile, identifying the right stakeholders and planning a strategy for how and when to engage each one. You’ll use what you learn to refine your approach and focus your time on the accounts most likely to convert. - You’ll take your outbound outreach beyond the first touch, carrying conversations forward and owning a subset of introduction calls. It’s where you’ll sharpen how you talk about Numeric and build the instincts to run a strong sales conversation. - You’ll nurture prospects who aren’t ready to buy yet, keeping them engaged with event invitations and product updates and building trust that pays off when their timing changes. - You’ll partner closely with AEs on the accounts you source, getting regular feedback on what makes a meeting valuable and how to improve your handoffs. You’ll also see how marketing, ops, and partnerships support the sales team. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a full cycle sales role or chart your own career path at Numeric. About You You’re early career (6 months - 3 years of experience) interested in joining a high-growth start-up and directly contributing. You have a hypothesis that sales could be strong fits for your skill set and are excited to dive straight in. - You’re driven. You have a track record of being disciplined, organized, and getting things done. - You’re personable. You’re a natural communicator. You easily connect with new people and often strike up conversations. - You’re coachable. You actively seek out feedback, apply it quickly, and get better every week. - You’re resilient. You take rejection in stride, stay positive, and keep picking up the phone. - You’re curious. You enjoy learning how businesses work and asking questions that get to the heart of a problem. HOW WE WORK AT NUMERIC 🔍 We believe that small, focused teams can have huge impacts. This means that our team is ready to tackle projects across the company when needed and we devote enough focus time to stay productive. 🏢 We are hybrid but in-office first. We believe that when things are moving quickly, time together in the office is key to providing everyone with context, adapting, and, well, it’s more fun this way 😊 🐎 We move fast and believe that often the best way to learn is by doing. 💜 We deeply care about this company. We care about the product we’re building, our customer base, and each other. 🧾 We’re genuinely excited the world of accounting (even though most of us were brand new to it before we joined). While you may not share the same love on Day 1, we look for people excited about the prospect of re-shaping an industry and diving deep to learn about our customers. — 😄 And, important to note, we take business building seriously. But we aim to never take ourselves too seriously & laugh a lot.
