Product Marketing Manager at Conversion

Job description

ABOUT CONVERSION Conversion is the agentic marketing automation platform for modern enterprises such as Plaid, ClickHouse, Webflow, and Productboard. Our platform lets growth teams run their entire go-to-market motion in one place, from acquisition through retention, with AI agents doing the work that legacy tools like Marketo, HubSpot, and Pardot can't. We've raised $28M+ from Abstract Ventures, True Ventures, and HOF Capital. The team is based in San Francisco and includes engineers, designers, and operators from Airbnb, Palantir, Pinterest, IMC, Shopify, LinkedIn, and Microsoft. ABOUT THE ROLE Hey 👋 Kyle here. I lead marketing at Conversion, and I'm excited to meet the right person for our first product marketer!! Something a little unique about working at Conversion: we ship as fast and as often as we can. A lot of companies save up for one big launch a quarter or a biannual release. We ship every week. Most weeks that's a new agent, a new integration, or something a customer asked for on Tuesday. That pace makes messaging hard. Someone has to own what we say about each launch, how the launches tie together, and how all of it builds into one story about the business. Nobody owns that full time today, so there's a ton of open space for the person who does. How do we draft copy? How does everything ladder up? What does one brand voice sound like across everything we ship? Which channels work best when we launch? How do the assets our studio makes (video, pages, social, decks) play off each other? That's your job to figure out. I think of a PMM as connective tissue across marketing, product, and engineering. We don't put PMMs on product pods, so you're thinking about the whole business: the narrative, our ICP, why enterprise MOps teams are leaving legacy platforms, and why Conversion is the right fit for them. You'll also sit very close to customers. You'll be on sales calls, in onboarding, and in deal reviews, and you'll talk to MOps directors and CMOs often enough that our messaging sounds like them. This role moves fast. Ship the good version this week, ship the better one next week. Some of it is high-volume and unglamorous, and you have to be okay getting a little chuegy because our audience is fun! If this garbled, Whispr Flow’d JD sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out to me on Linkedin or apply! This role is in-person 5 days/week in San Francisco. RESPONSIBILITIES - The company narrative: positioning and messaging for Conversion as a whole - Weekly launches plus the bigger tentpoles, across all three of our launch tiers - Breaking big releases into a run of smaller moments so they keep showing up in market - Brand voice and copy standards across the site, launches, and sales materials - Launch channel strategy: what goes where, and why - Competitive positioning against Marketo, HubSpot, and Pardot - Sales enablement: the pitch, one-pagers, battlecards - Customer insight: calls, win/loss, customer stories YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU - Have done PMM at a B2B company selling into enterprise - Have shipped on a weekly or biweekly launch cadence - Can show me messaging you wrote and what changed after it shipped - Like being on customer calls and do it without being asked - Move fast and are fine iterating in public - Don't mind the chuggy, high-volume parts of the job - Write clearly and quickly YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU - Have marketed to marketers or MOps teams, or lived inside Marketo, HubSpot, or Pardot yourself - Have built a narrative from zero at an early-stage company - Have run a tentpole launch end to end - Can name B2B launches you love that go past the obvious ones - Follow people like Kyle Poyar, Emily Kramer, and Dave Gerhardt - Want to be on a high-intensity, in-person team Bonus Points If - You've worked at a high-growth startup and have seen what it looks like to scale a growth motion quickly USEFUL LINKS - Website: conversion.ai - Learn more about our company culture here: conversion.ai
