Job description

About Us Gumloop is the multiplayer AI agent builder. We believe the people who know the work best should be able to automate it, and use what they build to help their whole team do more. Anyone at a company can build, share, and optimize agents with any AI model and any integration. Teams can orchestrate those agents across their business, while IT keeps full control over data, access, and spend. We're a small team building as fast as humanly possible. Gusto, Ramp, Shopify, Samsara, Instacart, and Opendoor are running agents on Gumloop across their company. We've raised over $70M gumloop.com from Benchmark, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Nexus Ventures to scale and are looking for people who care as much as we do to join the team. Here’s what life at Gumloop is like: - Our beliefs – The Handbook gumloop.com - Our adventures – Wall of Photos gumloop.com - What our users are saying - Wall of Love gumloop.com - What we’re working on – Changelog gumloop.com ABOUT US Gumloop is the AI automation platform for the enterprise. We give teams the power to easily build and deploy AI agents, in Slack, Microsoft Teams, or standalone, that automate real work across hundreds of integrations with no engineering background required. The platform has three pillars: 1. Agents — Conversational AI assistants that use tools (integrations, workflows, code sandbox, MCP servers) to accomplish open-ended tasks. Unlike workflows that follow fixed paths, agents decide which tools to use and when, adapting based on context. Users configure agents with a system prompt, a model, and a set of tools. Agents can be deployed to a chat UI, Slack, or Microsoft Teams, and can run autonomously via scheduled or event-based triggers. 2. Workflows — Visual, drag-and-drop automations composed of connected nodes on a canvas. Each node is a discrete operation (call an API, run AI, read a spreadsheet, send an email). Workflows are deterministic and repeatable. They can be triggered manually, on a schedule, via webhook, or by external events (new email, Slack message, etc.). Workflows can also be attached to agents as callable tools — the agent orchestrates, the workflow executes. 3. Gumstack — Enterprise-grade MCP hosting, observability, and AI governance. Organizations provision managed MCP servers, control which AI models are available, audit every tool call, and enforce security policies across all agents and workflows. We're moving fast. Teams at Gusto, Ramp, Shopify, Samsara, Instacart, and Opendoor are already building and deploying AI agents on Gumloop to automate real work across their organizations. That's not a demo. That's production. We've raised $70M from Benchmark, First Round Capital, Y Combinator, Nexus Ventures, Shopify Ventures, BoxGroup, and The Cannon Project to build a world class team. About the Role As a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer at Gumloop, you'll be the technical partner Account Executives rely on to win deals, and work directly with prospects to turn their highest-value automation opportunities into production reality on our platform. You'll run discovery on live opportunities, build tailored demos and proofs of concept, and lead technical evaluations through to signed contracts. This is a hands-on role. You'll scope solutions, build them on the platform, get them running reliably, and make sure customers can take ownership and keep building. You own outcomes, not just demos. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Partner with Account Executives on active opportunities — run technical discovery calls, qualify fit, and surface the highest-value automation use cases for each prospect. - Build and deliver tailored demos and proofs of concept that show prospects exactly how Gumloop solves their problem, and own the technical win through to signed contract. - Field technical, security, and integration questions that come up during evaluation, looping in Engineering for anything outside your depth. - Pilot new customers end-to-end — scope the right use cases, build working solutions on the platform, and drive to production. - Train customer teams to build, iterate, and scale their own automations and agents. - Be the trusted technical advisor customers rely on for architecture decisions and best practices, from first conversation through scale. - Be the voice of the customer back to Product and Engineering — turning patterns from deals and deployments into roadmap input. - Build reusable demo environments, templates, and reference architectures that make every future deal and deployment faster. WHAT YOU BRING - Have worked in a customer-facing technical role that touches the sales cycle (Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar) and are comfortable owning a technical win, not just supporting one. - Are a builder, not just a presenter — you'll scope it, prototype it, and iterate until it works, rather than clicking through a canned demo. - Have strong technical fundamentals — comfortable with APIs, integrations, and data pipelines, and can read/write code (Python, JS/TS). - Have hands-on experience with AI/LLM-powered applications — prompt engineering, agent architectures, evaluation, or automation frameworks. - Can lead a room — effective with non-technical teams and C-suite alike, translating technical capabilities into business impact. - Thrive in ambiguity and move fast — you're defining the playbook, not following one. BONUS - Experience with automation/agentic platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, Retool, or similar). - Background in consulting, professional services, or implementation at a high-growth SaaS company. - Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance concerns (SOC 2, SSO/SCIM, VPC deployments). BENEFITS - Highly competitive salary and meaningful equity - Generous paid time off: 24 days for SF employees and 20 days globally, use them as you need - $350/month wellness benefit to spend on gym, spa, equipment, or whatever keeps you at your best - 15 days of temporary remote work flexibility per year - 401k/RRSP match up to 6%
