Job description

About Our Client Our client is an aerospace and AI infrastructure startup solving the terrestrial power and cooling bottlenecks of artificial intelligence. Backed by top-tier venture capital and led by an exit-proven founder, our client designs compute-native satellites that host high-performance GPUs in orbit—leveraging uninterrupted solar energy and natural space cooling to run AI inference at scale. Why You Should Join • Hardware That Flies Fast: Avoid multi-year bureaucracy. The first satellite integration is already underway, shipping early next year for launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 mission. • Complete Technical Ownership: As our client's first dedicated Electrical Engineer, you will own the flight computer, design the GPU compute board, and guide tier-one ODM partnerships. • World-Class Leadership: Founded by an experienced operator who built and scaled one of the largest US transit tech startups through a major acquisition. • Compensation: Competitive salary plus equity, and a relocation stipend to bring you to Los Angeles. What You'll Do • Flight Computer Ownership: Design, test, and ready the Pathfinder flight computer for orbit as your primary 90-day milestone. • Hands-on Lab Engineering: Lead breadboarding, board bring-up, signal/power integrity (SI/PI) analysis, and debugging in the LA hardware lab. • ODM Leadership: Drive compute and electronics architecture with manufacturing partners (Supermicro, Foxconn, Gigabyte) for full-scale satellite deployments. • High-Speed Interconnect Architecture: Evaluate and implement high-speed interfaces, including NVLink, SerDes, and optical interconnects/silicon photonics. • Embedded Software & Firmware: Write platform code, payload firmware, and test scripts (C/C++, Linux, Python) when needed. Required Experience • Experience: Open across experience levels, from standout new grads to senior/staff-level veterans. • Startup Agility: Minimum 1 year of experience in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment. • Core Hardware Fundamentals: Demonstrated mastery in schematic capture, high-speed PCB layout, board bring-up, and SI/PI verification. • Embedded Proficiency: Hands-on ability with embedded C/C++, Linux, and Python. • Citizenship: US Citizenship is mandatory, no visa sponsorship available.
