Job description

WANT TO MAKE AI JUST WORK? Most enterprise AI stops at a chat box. Ask it something real about your business and it has no idea what your company knows, so you paste in context and hope. We are building the layer that fixes that across any model. Coworker builds a context graph across every system a company runs. Closed frontier models when the work demands it, open US-hosted models when it does not. Same quality of output, roughly 5x the tokens for the same spend. When a better model ships, our customers get it automatically. It is working. We are changing the way people work. AI is not an add-on, it is the product, and with Coworker you unlock true native access that brings work into a new era. We are honest about the stage. This is early, the surface area is enormous, and we ship fast enough that some weeks are heavy. We are working at the forefront of AI development, building not only our product but our company around true AI native workflows. ABOUT THE JOB We need a talented, ambitious, hard-working senior software engineer with 4+ years of experience who can help us build the foundation for the next era of work. We need someone who wants to change how the world works, one company at a time. You are that person. You are a hungry full stack software developer who is capable of thought leadership and high-quality code output, but who is also obsessed with making customers happy, and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. You are also autonomous and happy to take on big, ambiguous problems as one of the first engineers at a fast-growing startup. You’re willing to work nights and weekends if needed to get key projects over the line. But you (like us!) are more than your code and your hard work! You love building a culture where people love to work but believe in putting people first while having a huge amount of fun while you do your job. You will be given substantial amounts of tokens to accomplish your job. We're looking for people who are willing to explore and maximize the value of those tokens. WHAT YOU’LL DO IN THE ROLE - Get your hands dirty deep in the AI systems, as well as writing traditional application code - Bake AI into every part of your role to make it better, trying to automate it away so you can do 100 jobs at once - Be a thought leader in the enterprise AI space - Manage and mentor junior engineers - Guide the early Coworker technical architecture decisions that will resonate throughout the global economy for years to come - Establish the Coworker engineering culture–live the mission and set a standard - Help the product team craft the team vision, strategy, and roadmap while proposing innovative solutions, as well as understanding technical limitations - Drive key business metrics - Push the frontier of what’s possible with Enterprise AI - Have an inordinate amount of fun POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (Computer Science preferred) - 4-8+ years of professional development experience - Experience and desire to own new products from zero to one, from system design to implementation to deployment - Strong communication and collaboration skills - Experience and comfort using AI aggressively to improve velocity with looping, reinforcement - Any languages are fine, we primarily use GoLang, Typescript, and Python - Excitement, ambition, and fun PERKS - Unlimited paid time off - Medical, dental, and vision - Early and generous employee stock option plan - $100 monthly health and wellness benefit - 401(k) plan - Paid family leave - Apple products for work - Daily tetris matches DROP US A LINE! We encourage you to drop us a line even if you feel over- or under-qualified. We want to find the best people to help us build Coworker no matter who they are. We have a lot of different areas of responsibility and we are always happy to brainstorm with you about what would be the best fit. Coworker.ai is an equal opportunity employer. We believe everyone should feel great about being their authentic selves at Coworker–this is the only way to do our best work!
