Job description

PART-TIME SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR Location: Hockley, Texas Reports to: Communications Director Hours per week (average): 20 Overtime Status: Non-Exempt About Us At Community of Faith, we believe a career in ministry is more than a job. It is an opportunity to answer God's calling and make an eternal impact. We are a non-denominational, multigenerational, multiethnic missions-focused church committed to helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and live lives that make a lasting impact. Guided by our mission to Love God, Love People, and Serve the World , we create environments where people of every age, background, and season of life can encounter Jesus, experience authentic community, deepen their faith, and discover their God-given purpose. We believe the local church is God's plan to bring hope, healing, and transformation to individuals, families, and communities. Whether welcoming first-time guests, caring for children and students, supporting ministries behind the scenes, or stewarding the church's operations, every member of our team plays a vital role in helping people take their next step with Christ. We pursue excellence because it honors God, serve with humility because Jesus first served us, and work together because we believe the local church is at its best when every person faithfully uses their unique gifts to build God's Kingdom. Our vision is to see every person become a fully devoted follower of Jesus, every family strengthened by the hope of the Gospel, and every community transformed through the love of Christ. If you're passionate about using your gifts, talents, and experience to serve others and make an eternal difference, we'd love to explore how God might be calling you to join our team. About the Role At Community of Faith, we believe some of the most powerful stories of what God is doing happen every day. Social media gives us the opportunity to capture what is happening inside our walls and share it far beyond them. It allows us to tell stories of life change, celebrate what God is doing, and invite people to experience the life and community of our church. The Social Media Coordinator will help shape how people experience COF online. This role captures the life, energy, stories, and moments of our church and turns them into compelling digital content that inspires people to engage, belong, and take their next step with Christ. From a powerful moment in worship to a story of life change, a glimpse behind the scenes, or content that simply makes someone stop scrolling, this person helps tell the story of COF in ways that feel authentic, creative, relevant, and unmistakably us. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller who understands culture, lives comfortably in the digital world, and is always thinking about what could connect next. They have an eye for moments others might miss, understand what makes content worth watching and sharing, and aren't afraid to experiment with new ideas, formats, and trends. They bring creativity and strategy together using social media not simply to promote what is happening at COF, but to build community, invite conversation, and help people encounter Jesus. You are a storyteller at heart and naturally notice moments, people, and stories worth sharing. You understand digital culture and are energized by what's next in social media, content, and storytelling. You are creative and willing to experiment, take thoughtful risks, test new ideas, and learn from what works. You can take a big idea or ministry moment and turn it into content that feels simple, compelling, and relevant. You are proactive, resourceful, and comfortable moving quickly when an unexpected story or opportunity emerges. You enjoy collaborating with creative people and ministry leaders and can turn their ideas into content people want to experience. You pursue excellence and believe social media can do more than promote church—it can tell stories of life change, create belonging, start conversations, and help people take their next step with Jesus. Attendance at required staff meetings, trainings, and other scheduled team commitments is expected.
